^i love seekh kebab:yummy:
ok in my country, they’re a little famous for bringing ‘divisions/sects’, and for ‘flirting’ around with local women there with false promises of marrying them.
otherwise they mostly blend in with the rest of the asians as we dont have many pakistanis there(though now they’re starting to flood in:cb:)
Re: Pakistani stereotypes?
Among Muslims Pakistani’s are feared and admired equally.
For they are citizens of the worlds first Islamic republic.
As for non-muslims Pakistani’s represent the most hated and clever opponents for they are smart, brave and have nuclear weapons ![]()
Among the Westerners Pakistani’s are labbeled as the safehouse of terrorists.
Among the orientals Pakistan is the fortress of Islam and a symbol of the model Islamic republic.
Re: Pakistani stereotypes?
i tried to think of some stereotypes but couldn't.....
though most ppl who ask me what i am and find out i'm pakistani, usually assume its the same as India and associate bollywood with it. eh.
Re: Pakistani stereotypes?
"So will u be having one of those arranged marriages, where ur parents choose ur husband for u and u have to mov in with his family"?
If only I had a penny for every time a non asian asked me tht
^ Yeah, “They all get arranged marriages” is a common one and “they get married to their cousins”
One thing I’ve noticed my desi friends (who aren’t Pakistani) say is that Pakistani’s are a little too proud of their culture. I don’t know what they mean by that though ![]()
Re: Pakistani stereotypes?
the country i live in, and people i've been around/ with, i found these most common stereotypes about Pakistanis..
- They are short tempered
- They are smart, ask them to do something which others could not
- Get involved into anything and everything when walking down the streets
They all have 6 kids and live in council houses claiming benefits..
Mind you! Majority of Pakistanis in UK are home owners.
Re: Pakistani stereotypes?
They cover all their TV's, amps, computers in plastic sheets, sofas with bedsheets and if they own a red Ferrari; they probably made their fortune selling desi ghee / mithais.....

true dat.. i'm gettin sick of this arranged marriage question..
Re: Pakistani stereotypes?
I always feel that anytime I tell someone where I am from, the person goes into a few seconds of deep thinking, as if meditating. I can clearly see the word "terrorist" flashing in their mind, whether they say it or not.
So may be that is the most dominant stereotype we have in the West.
Just don't ask them to clean the restroom. lol.
Among Muslims Pakistani's are feared and admired equally.
Really? Wow.
Our Arabia-palat professor used to say that Arabs refer to us as "Hindi Miskeen"?!
Re: Pakistani stereotypes?
^^ True that. Pakistanis, muslims or not, are 'hindi, miskeens' to our loving 'muslim' brotherly arabs. So much love from our loving arab muslim brothers for us Pakistanis for being 'muslims'. Why else do you think all the 'religious' Pakistanis have so much respect & undying love for them that they go invest all of their life savings in the our brotherly arabland instead of their own country or the bad bad evil west & then lose every single penny due to the corruption of the natives & return home with a ban on their passports for going bankrupt & unable to pay back loans.
Really? Wow. Our Arabia-palat professor used to say that Arabs refer to us as "Hindi Miskeen"?!
tahnk God they don't see us as one of em..i'd rather associate myself wid the word "hindi" than arabi..
Just don't ask them to clean the restroom. lol.
i said something which others could not do, our indian friends do it pretty good here, i dont know about the country you live in, may be they asked you?
what a shame!
our beloved prophet
was an arab, i would love to be associated to arabs, where your “prophet” was from? Q*****? Mr. Hindi?
i’m sorry but just coz our Huzoor(S.A.W) was Arab, doesn’t mean we should adopt arab identity too. I respect and love Him(S.A.W) but that doesn’t mean i should forget my identity and start licking arab ppl’s feet.. i’m not a wannabe and shame on all who are wannabes..it’s like saying my father was a great person so u should respect me too regardless of the fact that i might be one of the worst men around.. u clearly suffer from an identity crisis.. which is another reason why we have so many “syeds” in pakistan..
Turks are muslims too, persians r muslims too i don’t see them singing hymns in praise of arabs all the time… but as i said, many ppl in our country sffer from identity crisis…
religion and cultural/ethnic background are two entirely different things..both are important and should not be forgotten IMO..
and oh, i never said i’m hindi.. i said i’d RATHER be called hindi that arabi.. personally i’m a proud pakistani having nothing to do wid arabs.. islam is a different topic in case u’r wondering..
Re: Pakistani stereotypes?
^^ oops, dont take on heart my friend! nobody asked you to start "licking" anybodies feet, (probably you are already busy doing that to us/india? oh sorry, again) may be you are suffering from identity crisis not us, because for us (or atleast me), our "baray" to whom we like to be associated to are "baray" of religion, not those filthy rich shaikhs, may be its your habit to always look at "filthy" side of everything?
ok back to topic... what is stereotypes for Pakistanies where you live? ninja and goats? thats it?
Re: Pakistani stereotypes?
why would i be suffering from identity crisis when u were the one who said u'd love to be associated wid arabs.. mental case.. i'd like to be associated to our holy religious figures too but i would not like to be associated wid all arabs.. there's a big difference which u don't seem to understend for some reason..
and our "baray" would never use words like hindi miskeen towards us.. such affection comes only from general arabs..
