I agree with you 100%. I was junior officer in federal government during malown Zia-ul-Haq time, where, NS type politicans, bureaucrats, military personnel became very wealthy within very short period of time. There was no cry from media or from anywhere else. Zia-ul-Haq boldly told custom and police officials to “zara thandi kar ke khaain”.

During those times ‘media’ wasn’t as independent and outgoing, so lets not pin it on media. Corruption has been in us for VERY long time, not just Zia’s time, you might have seen it during Zia’s time, may be thats when you started your employment? Read stories/novels of post-partition era of Pakistan and you will read how everyone was in a race to be at the top as filthy-rich by a$$-kissing and what not, very shameful stories indeed.
