pakistani people showing anger on tv sets ? damaging their televisions.

Re: pakistani people showing anger on tv sets ? damaging their televisions.

even in 2003, when Pakistan scored and posted a huge total of 273.. we still lost it... despite having one of the best bowling attack...

Re: pakistani people showing anger on tv sets ? damaging their televisions.

You are right. problem is not in expecting miracles but problem is for miracles not to happen. :)

I do not know how someone could expect a team consisting of mostly batsmen with average in low 30s and SR in low 70s to beat a team that has numerous players with average above 40 and SR in 80s and 90s.

Re: pakistani people showing anger on tv sets ? damaging their televisions.

As players figures are, I would be surprised if India beats Australia in World cup, but that surprise would be less than Pakistan beating India.

Re: pakistani people showing anger on tv sets ? damaging their televisions.

remember overall we have whipped you 72 -51, long time before you catch us. So be happy with 6 -0 lead in one segment. The big picture is very depressing for your team.

if we go all the way to SF

San Diego or Florida may be balmier this time of the year.

Re: pakistani people showing anger on tv sets ? damaging their televisions.

So Indians are winning the Grand Salamis and Pakistanis are winning the Grand Prix circuit?

Re: pakistani people showing anger on tv sets ? damaging their televisions.

Yes Fawad's the only glaring omission

To be honest The cupboard is empty but I am also miffed at the apparent lack of forward thinking and planning on the part of PCB. I mean someone like Haris Sohail (he seems to have good technique and temperament) should have been drafted into the team at least a year ago so he would have enough international exposure before the World Cup. You cannot expect youngsters to just come in and deliver in high stake games. Not everyone is Inzi. And even he failed in the earlier games of the 1992 World Cup but luckily for us came good in the SF and Final when it really mattered.

You often hear people say that Pakistan is blessed with special talent in the field of cricket

While this was probably true in the 80s and 90s, in the last decade or so we have not unearthed a single world class batsman (UA is hit and miss, Azhar, Fawad and Shafiq are decent batsmen, Shehzad has potential) and no world class pace bowlers apart from Aamir and Asif. Both Younis (a test great only) and Misbah made their debuts in 2000/early 2000s. Infact we have not managed to find a bowler even 50% as good as Aamir since 2010, so much so that we are now desperate for him to return to the international team soon after his ban ends in Sep 2015

Re: pakistani people showing anger on tv sets ? damaging their televisions.

It's taking us longer to reverse those stats because Pakistan doesn't play much international cricket any more. Just need 22 more games to reverse it, but the rate at which India Pak play against each other it might be another 15 years away. Until then, be happy with the stats [emoji12]

Re: pakistani people showing anger on tv sets ? damaging their televisions.

tu India main tu koi TV set nahi ho ga? look abhi tak Radwa suntey hain? AKA 71/52 ;)

Re: pakistani people showing anger on tv sets ? damaging their televisions.

^ 72/51

Re: pakistani people showing anger on tv sets ? damaging their televisions.

Pakistan's problems against India are limited to World Cups mainly...Problem is psychological barrier in these games. Not so long ago (2013) Pak won an ODI series in India 2-1 despite the batting (should have won 3-0 but our pathetic batsmen made a mountain out of a seemingly easy chase of 160 odd in the 3rd ODI!)

You will be surprised to know that 72-51 isn't just because of Sharjah. Pak has won more ODI games against India **IN**** India** (Pak 19 - India 11). At home (in Pakistan), Pak has won 14 games and India 11. i.e. Pakistan's win% in India is better than their win % in Pakistan. Also Pak has won more Asia Cup Games than India. I need not mention the Sharjah games...

Re: pakistani people showing anger on tv sets ? damaging their televisions.

India 2011 and 2015 world cup champs!!!

Re: pakistani people showing anger on tv sets ? damaging their televisions.

While quoting these stats, it might be interesting to look at the records of the two teams pre and post 1990s. That's when Indian cricket started changing, and so did Pak cricket albeit in a different direction.

Re: pakistani people showing anger on tv sets ? damaging their televisions.

Most recent bilateral (ODI) series (last decade):

2005 (Played in India): Pak won 4-2
2006 (Pak): India won 4-1
2006 (UAE): Drawn 1-1
2007 (India): India won 3-2
2013 (India): Pak won 2-1

Re: pakistani people showing anger on tv sets ? damaging their televisions.

In 2013 you could have conquered the world. You had Shoaib Malik.

Re: pakistani people showing anger on tv sets ? damaging their televisions.

India has an overwhelming lead of 11 to 10 in this time span. Furthermore, using the EBITDA approach, India pummels Pakistan 8 to 4 in the 2006 - 2007 time frame.

Re: pakistani people showing anger on tv sets ? damaging their televisions.

Thanks for pulling this out. As the numbers show, it's no longer 72-51. Infact, India has a slight edge. To go back to my original point, Pakistan might have an edge historically but both teams have evolved (in different directions) so quoting numbers dating back to 1970s is meaningless now.
