Also because with age, metabolism slows down and if your diet and lifestyle is the same as when your metabolism was a bit faster, you’re bound to put on weight. For example, Madhuri didn’t have a baby until a year after Devdas was released but she still looked older and heavier than Aishwarya despite taking pretty good care of herself. It’s just harder to lose weight as you grow older. The likes of Madonna and Angelina are slim because they live on ghaas phoos unlike desi women. They burn more calories than they eat, its a simple formula that never fails. At least men are out working, women have maids for everything. They’re eating a whole lot more calories than they’re burning. Add pregnancy and crazy hormonal issues (especially as they approach menopause) to that and the end result is motaapa and a million other health issues.
Ok, I know I will probably get a lot of flak for this topic but bring it on! :D
In my experience, why is it that vast majority of pakistanis ladies don't age really well. By my highly scientific estimates the weight of the ladies increases by.25X in 5 yrs increments after age 25.
Is it because the ladies feel they are already married and why put in the extra effort to remain slim (by dieting or exercise). How would you feel if your life partner in a polite/indirect way hinted that you have let yourself go?
I think lack of exercise is the main reason that both men and women in the subcontinent don't age well. We don't do a very good job teaching our kids (especially girls) the importance of physical activity.
Is weight is the only indicator of aging and testament of youth ? The 40+ year old Madhuri in Devdas had more youth on her face than Aishwerya, who was almost half her age at the time. Madhuri was gorgeously striking and super well maintained for her age in that movie.
As with physique, you can’t compare the two because they have completely different body types, it has nothing to with age. Aish is naturally tall and lean while Madhuri is relatively shorter in height and always had a curvy, plumy figure.
Maybe ghass phoos in desi lingo is just another word healthy and balanced and proportioned diet which most of these Hollywood stars follow.
because desi women demand them to work like an ass all day just for their make up edited.
Yes, 'desi' women don't age well and they let themselves 'go'... they'll spend all your money buying make-up.. so please don't get married to a 'desi' girl. Infact, please don't get married at all!
Gina that was a silly reply.
have you ever heard the phrase: ask a stupid question get a stupid answer?
the same applies for comments posted in forums...you get what you give
perhaps their are a few women that don't age well but most of the girls in my age group (26 and above) take very good care of themselves. Infact, I have noticed their husbands have let go.
Anyways, I think alot of pakistani women don't age well because they go through soooo much grief that they tend to let themselves go. However, it's not only confined to the women, but also the men. And you can't stay sweet 16 forever now, can you?
I disagree, I know many older Asian women who take care of themselves and actually look better than the younger ones because they're more sophisticated and graceful. Maybe it's just me though, I love aged faces, it's character!
As far as figure goes some women will be at the gym 24/7 , other cant because desi men complain that no one was home to cook or to fawn all over them, so it's hard.
I see more working women maintain themselves because they have to for their careers, although some house wives are quite good with it too.
Basically, you're statement is a huge generalisation and just not true as far as my experiences go.
Who ages well without plastic surgery tell me that.
People that have undergone plastic surgery as a general rule look horrid in reality, it's all well and good on camera but they look creepy in real life. I think people age better if they don't mess with natural beauty, a healthy lifestyle is all you need.
