generally bcoz its true...in the west, ppl lead isolated family lives and only interact on weekends/ holidays, etc...
uhhh either:
you watch too many american comedy sitcoms. you have probably never visited the states. or you live in the states and have a uniquely boring ass family that can't cope with living abroad and does the wierd stuff you are talking about.
That being said, what does it even mean to be taize? People say it all the time, but no one knows what it means it seems.
