Pakistan WINS SERIES against NZ

well done Pakistan.

I hope that rain would not stop pakistan from winning this test. They deserve to win.

one more thing i’d like to point out, i dont know if any of you noticed that though we know Shabbir can reverse tha ball ** but whats more surprising that he was sending reverse out swingers **

Waqar, Shoaib and Sami all bowl reverse in swingers.
Wasim could bowl both type of delieveries
And now Shabbir is reversing both type of deliveries too.

Ominous signs for Paksitani bowling :jhanda:

:jhanda: :jhanda:

i m :konfused: wat did inzi do?

Why did Inzi not take the extra 8 overs he was allowed to by the rules and finish off the chase today?

INZI THAT BAFOOON  all of NZ will be praying for rain today :disgust:

Jubilant Akhtar laments lost hat-trick](http://uk.sports.yahoo.com/031229/323/ehz2n.html)

WELLINGTON (AFP) - The “Rawalpindi Express” achieved everything he wanted to out of his stunning bowling spell against New Zealand … except for the elusive hat-trick.

Shoaib Ahktar, who has made a habit of terrorising New Zealand batsmen, bowled Pakistan within sight of a series victory with another unplayable spell in the second Test at the Basin Reserve on Monday.

His haul of six for 30 to spark a New Zealand collapse of seven wickets for just eight runs gave him match figures of 11 for 78.

He is a certainty for the man of the match award when Pakistan knock off the 28 more runs they need for victory.

Akhtar now has 17 wickets from two tests against New Zealand at 5.24 runs apiece after a match-winning six for 11 inflicted the Black Caps’ last test loss in Lahore 18 months ago.

But for all his success, he regrets not snaring Craig McMillan’s wicket for his first international hat-trick.

It was brute of an in-swinging yorker which McMillan somehow kept out after Mark Richardson and Scott Styris had folded in the previous two balls.

“I always wish for it, and I’ve missed my hat-trick about 12 times now. I try to make it happen. I was thinking it was my last chance for a while,” said Akhtar, whose brand of fast bowling has earned him the nickname the “Rawalpindi Express”.

"It wasn’t a bad hat-trick ball though, but he survived. I am just so unfortunate, I never get a hat-trick.

“McMillan stays on the crease, so I thought the good ball would be a yorker. I’m not lucky enough, but it will happen some day I hope.”

Akhtar looms as the dangerman for the upcoming one-day series, but was himself at a loss to explain his mastery of New Zealand’s batsmen.

His not-so-secret weapon of the reverse swinging yorker again accounted for several batsmen in this Test.

“It seems like my favourite team doesn’t it?” he said.

“I’m really up for the Australians and all the tougher sides. New Zealand have good batsmen and play fast bowlers really well. I’m very fortunate to get wickets against New Zealand.”

The weather does not look too bad and I think there will be play and Inshallah Pakistan will win.

keep it up lad…
I dindt see the match so far. but I need to nkow waht were comentators expression at the moment.. coz in the last match, they were doing bukbuk on reverse swing. now that they have seen terrible swing, I jsut wanna know there expression.. :jhanda:

I hope so the same as well… but you cant count on nature naa..
and if we loose, I dont know waht will happen to Inzi and his ignorance…

ppl say somtimes ignorance is a bliss, but this time it would be a shame for him.

pakistan is near to win the series if the rain dosent stop them to paly 5th day ....... because shower is expected on 5th day......if no showers then pakistan defenately won the series by 1 nill cool stuff from pakis ...... n see the white wash in one dayers by pak in NZ...Insha Allah

even umpire was sayin sumthin like… ke Inzimaaam never hurried for anything

The rule states that if a team decides to carry on, there is no turning back. Say a wicket or two fall off in the first of those 8 overs, the team MUST bat through the 8 overs (barring conditions of play remain viable). So lets say if Inzi did decide to continue and a wicket had fallen. Don't you think the pressure would have shifted on Pakistan to play out the remaining 7.5 overs?.

Having said that, the same thing can happen on the fifth day. But, the pressure on batsmen wouldn't be the same as it is in the closing overs of a test day.

The only other factor that can come into mind is the weather. Well, there hasn't been a washed out day in the series so far and chances are they will be able to play at least a session even if it rains tomorrow.

It's a dodgy call. I just hope it is not a wash out tomorrow or the cricketing world will have another story to laugh about on Inzi other than his running abilities.

BTW, the most baffling statement came from Pakistan's team manager Haroon Rasheed. When asked why Pakistan decided to wait until the fifth day to reach the 274-run target, manager Haroon Rashid said: "We were doing fine, so why not come back tomorrow?"

:jhanda: Shabbir is an excellent bowler. Both in the back-up role and in the attack mode. I hope he plays a season or two with county to polish up his skills. Not more than two seasons though, as that normally has a negative impact.. I’ll try and take notice of his reverse out-swingers in the hilights of the match. :jhanda:

Shabbir is another find of rebuilding process and he has made strong impact and i hope he bolws like this most of the time. He alongwith Shoaib and Sami make a devestating trio.

and yeah watch that outswinger iw as talkign about because i have seen only Sarfraz Nawaz and Wasim Akran who both could reverse the ball both ways. Others use and used to bowl reverse insiwingers.

where do oyu see the highlights?
nzoom.com shows h/l but not when they are losing, i guess.
and pakistanvision.com is showing old one…

I do hope the weather holds on for an hour or so.

When Pakistan scores another 28 runs today, they will have won 5 Test matches and 2 drawn out of total 7 Test matches, after world cup.

And they have won 15 ODIs and lost just 8 out of total 23 ODIs since world cup.
:k: :jhanda:

Ehsan bhai, this Weather.com shows that its gonna be windy, does not show any rain, specially for the day time.

funguy, when the momentum is on your side, Youhanna is on top of bowlers, even Inzi was very comfortable playing all bowlers, why not continue play when it was still “sunshine”?

He probably didn’t know the exact reason of waiting until tomorrow, and he didn’t want to admit in public that he doesn’t know whats going around him :hehe:
