so as things stand now, who has the edge?

Re: Pakistan VS West Indies 2nd Test at Jamaica 3 - 7 June

Pakistan is still in deep $hit here... We still have no solution for Lara, and unless he gifts his wicket away, any score is achievable by West Indies. Historically, teams batting fourth here have not score in excess of 212 runs (or something like that), but then again, with our bowling attack, Lara just needs 2-3 players to stick around to make minced meat of the target.

Anyway, pretty decent performance by several Pak batsmen in this innings. Inzi, ofcourse, leads the pack and is heads and shoulders above anyone else in our team. The difference he makes in our batting line up can not be measured just by statistics. Malik, Younis and Afridi gave him good support in putting up this total. Our lower middle order completely disappointed today, which is a shame. I am not exactly sure what was Afridi thinking, or what Inzi might be saying to him from the other end. At the end of the day, Afridi scored a fairly respectable 43, and I have a sneaking suspicion that the instructions for him was to demolish the morale of Collymore by some aggressive hitting. And he did that fairly well. Too bad he got undone by Best's first ball.

West Indian fielding is fairly ordinary, which is a pleasant sight for any Pakistani fan. Means, we are not the worst. Their bowling blows hot and cold. Collymore is definitely a good prospect. I am not too sure about Best. Time will tell. However, its their batting troika of Lara, Chenderpaul and Sarawan which has proved unstoppable, with good help from Gayle and Hinds. I sure hope Woolmer has some tricks up his bowlers' sleeves to make a match of it. Kaneria and Rana must be pretty low on confidence right now.

Re: Pakistan VS West Indies 2nd Test at Jamaica 3 - 7 June

280 from more than 150 overs is much more than easily managable....

Re: Pakistan VS West Indies 2nd Test at Jamaica 3 - 7 June

After the fall of Kamran's wicket...Inzamam should have come out of the crease and hit some boundries...damn...now the bowling should click quickly...

Re: Pakistan VS West Indies 2nd Test at Jamaica 3 - 7 June

I think we'd pretty much know by tea what results are gonna be - 2 wickets are needed by then for sure and then another 2 by the end of the day without too many runs.

Re: Pakistan VS West Indies 2nd Test at Jamaica 3 - 7 June

The highest chasing winning score in the 4th innings on this ground is 212-3 made by West Indies in 2003 defeating Sri Lanka.

atleast statistics r on our side (even if the current conditions and our players' performance isnt)....
