Afridi to bat down the order in Kingston: Inzamam

Pakistan cricket team’s captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has stated that all-rounder Shahid Afridi will bat down the order in the second and final Test in Kingston, saying Test match does not suit his style of play.

"He (Afridi) will bat as per the requirement of the team, but most probably down the order in the Kingston Test," Inzamam told reporters on Tuesday, adding, "He scored a hundred batting at number five."

Inzamam said the boys failed to adjust themselves for the Test match after making a clean sweep in the one-day series. But he hoped that his players were capable of

bouncing back in the series to topple the West Indies to level the series.

"Our batting flopped in the first innings of the Barbados Test and that made the difference in the end," he commented.

He said there would definitely be two changes for the second Test, saying he himself and Shoaib Malik will be returning to the fray for the crucial game.

Inzamam added that he and the team would be missing Yousuf Youhana because he is an experienced and dependable campaigner having the know-how to handle

the situation. But Inzamam added that the other players are equally good who will show their worth.

Inzamam said for his batsmen that staying at the crease would be crucial, saying, "If you stay at the crease and wait for the lose balls you get runs."

Regarding trying opening pair after failure of Salman Butt and Yasir Hameed, he said, "They cannot go without two regular and we may try."

Inzamam, who will be taking over as captain for the second Test because of one-Test suspension, said after going home he, in consultation with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), will invite those openers to the camp who had done well in domestic circuit.

**According to my 3 WI colleagues here in the office, WI win in test was like opening a shut window to let the wining fresh air in of which Windies have been starved off, they won’t allow this window to shut again !!! :elmo: **

Batting collapse excuse card again? , Now I’m 100% sure about his ability to analyse, Now was the correct time for him to talke about the bowling as well ,
or he was satisfied and content with taking all WI wickets even though they were expensive per wicket.?

Yoyo can not be compared with ‘other players equally good’ , tell us the truth!
This is an insult to a senior player , even though I have doubts about yoyo some times,

Staying at the crease is ‘Regulation’ , what else you got ???

Salman Butt has been OK , and working and improving on his skills , Why give him a ‘complex’ of unwantedness by using a word ‘FAILURE’ for him,

PCB requires a major overhaul of their own quarters before they satrt inviting “opening” probables again,as we have seen over the years that this process has distroyed the careers of many good potentials who were not always given ample time to groam,

Inzimam should concentrate on his brilliant batting skills by ensuring that his fans including myself remeber him for his ‘Batting’ and not ‘Cap10-C’

Inzi and Malik replace Bazid and Butt .. no changes in bowling attack .. Hmm .. not a bad move.

Re: Pakistan VS West Indies 2nd Test at Jamaica 3 - 7 June

^ Did you read last match's forecast too? it was worse than this. Hopefully it wont come true this time as well!

Re: Pakistan VS West Indies 2nd Test at Jamaica 3 - 7 June

I'd rather have seen Inzi & Malik replace Bazid and Yasir.

Re: Pakistan VS West Indies 2nd Test at Jamaica 3 - 7 June

Butt has footwork compared to Yasir who does not move his feet at all.

Re: Pakistan VS West Indies 2nd Test at Jamaica 3 - 7 June

Whats Goin On Match Shud Have Started By Now ?????

Re: Pakistan VS West Indies 2nd Test at Jamaica 3 - 7 June

Butt seems to take his place for granted. For some reason, he never seems to endure for a long time after the first openor gets out. I don't dislike Butt but oh well presence of Inzi and Malik is comforting enough. :p Yasir should be given some confidence too.

Re: Pakistan VS West Indies 2nd Test at Jamaica 3 - 7 June

any live audio possible?

Re: Pakistan VS West Indies 2nd Test at Jamaica 3 - 7 June

Umar Talib Bhai,

I would rather have Inzi ans Malik Replace Bazid and Yasir and Butt too. in short I would rather play with 10 players rather than have butt, Butt in, get it.
