Time for some soul searching and an improved performance. Hopefully there will not be mnany changes apart from Inai coming in for Bazid and Rana replaced by Shahid Nazir.

well played windies...the difference for the team has been edwards bowling that did the pak batsmen in, and laras aggresive batting approach as well...plus of course, chanderpauls well fought out innings, both of them...
paks bowling performance wasn't bad considering the absence of fasties like akhtar and sami...they fought hard and considering the talented batting lineup they were facing, managed to do fairly well to restrict WI to 345 and 371 respectively in both innings...
it was the pak batsmen couldn't get it together in the absence on inzi, yoyo and malik...the first 3/4 wickets alwayz falling early with a low score...pak's lower middle order did fight back hard in the 2nd innings, and gave the fans to cheer about...afridi's fireworks for his 122, kamal's consistent fighting spirit for his 55, razzaq's stretched out 41 and akmal's 21 as well contributed and really took pak's total up to where it was...otherwise the collapse would've been similar to the first innings miserable 144 all out...
lets hope pak learns quickly from its mistakes, and defeat WI in a similar fashion to the one they were handed today...
man of the match should be no other than chanderpaul in my opinion...lets see what happens...

Oh well now we will have to wait for another 5 years to see a pakistani victory on WI soil. Anytime a team is down and out, our team gives them something to bounce back.

Damn...our tailenders cannot bat at all...Younis Khan's captaincy didn't click either...Kaneria was too expensive...opening bowlers failed to take the key wicket in time...Ist innings of Pakistan was a chaotic ones...and 3/16 in the 2nd innings...thats it! Damn...Damn...

Good thing I wasnt able to watch the game, and as many knew before the start Pakistan batting and Pakistan’s bowling will be the key, once again Pakistan batting let us down.

Congrats to WI for a well deserved victory. They batted and bowled better than Pakistan.
For Pakistan, it was failure in batting and bowling. Only batsmen to make a meaningful score were Afridi and Asim Kamal, rest of the batsmen failed miserably.
Bolwing was'nt that impressive either. Of the 20 WI wickets taken, Rana the so-called spearhead (bonehead) was able to get 1 (one) tailender wicket at the fag-end of their (wi) batting. Shabbira, Kaneria and Razzak all ended with 5 wickets each, while Afridi had 3. There was no real fire in the bowling attack and our strike bowler (Kaneria) was unable to dominate the proceedings.
For the next test match, Pakistan will certainly be helped by the inclusion of Inzimam but will have to do something about its bowling attack which looks very very mediocre. Edward Fidel's injury is a blow to the WI but a blessing for the Paki batsmen who were very uncomfortable facing his fiery deliveries.
Afridi was dropped on the first ball of the match today, luck certainly favors the brave. His inning was the only bright spot for Pakistani fans.
Next test match in Jamaica....

What an innings by Afridi. Only if our top order had played how Afridi, Razzaq, and Kamal played...this could have been very different. But Afridi once again showed that how much he has improved as a player in both forms of the game.

I disagree with you fartguru... I think the bowlers did pretty well relative to their current portfolio. Yes... this one was just wasn't the match for Rana, but you could tell how hard the guy was trying and every commentator was commending him for it. Unlike some others who're thankfully not in the team (those who'd not even complete a complete test match if they got beat this bad - they'd just leave the field) - Rana on the other hand, persisted and tried throughout the match. Overall, the bowlers did well to root out the likes of Lara, Chanderpaul and Gayle in the first innings within a score that should not have been a major problem for our own batsmen.
My major qualms are with our top batting order who've disappointed us yet again.

Compare the bowling stats of the two teams.
First Inning:
Pakistani bowlers gave 345 runs for their 10wickets conceding 38 extras, comparatively speaking WI gave 144 runs for 10wickets conceding only 8 extras.
More importantly, Fidel Edwards their main strike bowler took 5wickets for 38runs in 14 overs. None of the Pki bowlers came even close to this performance.
Second Inning:
Pakistani bowlers conceded 371runs (Chander undefeated at 153) with 26 extras for their 10wickets. Comparatively, WI conceded 296runs with 17 extras. Once again, Gayle had a five wicket haul. WI was able to take 10Pk second inning wickets without the services of their main strike bowler Fidel Edwards.
Test matches require strike bowlers and specialist batsmen, Pakistan has specialist batsmen but lacks any real strike bowlers of test calibre. At the end of the, its performance which matters not what commentators say during the match which is mostly bs to keep audiences happy and glued to the tv sets.

^ yes but the other side to their bowling performance, is our batting performance... our batsmen performed poorly ==> their bowlers do well, and therein lies the problem. We lost because of our batting, not because of the bowling!
