Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
Two points here. It was argued that paksitan bowling is worry and not good enough for test cricket. yes we lack the killer blows and our attack comprises of work-man like bowlers rather than run-through bowlers but if they can dismiss might indian line up, they can get rid of windies too provided they show same discipline and levels of enthusiasm they did then.
Second, SA bowling line up is in no comparison to Pakistan’s. They are a one dimensional bowling line up while we can claim to have enough variety in Kaneria and Afridi.
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
Look at the test results of Australia and India, the dominant bowler from Pakistan was Danish Kaneria followed by Shoaib Akhter (Australia). Afridi can be affective in limited over matches, but can run dry when he has to bowl long spells. Yet, on his day he can be quite affective and this WI squad does hv quite a few chinks in its armour.
As for the Indian dismissal in the third test, well one can say flukes happen, but that wudnt be fair. Lets take a look at the bowling stats for these three test matches.
Danish kaneria played all three matches and took 19 wickets in total (6.33/match).
Mohammed Sami also played all three matches and took 10 wickets in total (3.33/match)
Razak Bhai played al three and took 7wickest in total (2.33/match)
Shahid Afridi played two tests and took a total of 8 wickets (4/match)
Arshad Khan played the last match and took two wickets
Rana played the first only and claimed just one wicket for 133 runs.
What does this mean? Danish is the real weapon Pakis hv, Sami is not fit and Shaibee aint in the team. Therefore, we r left to the same old strategy which Bob and his merry men applied in the Indigo land, Bat it out so the chances of defeat are reduced and lets hope these guys collapse cause we sure aint gonna get them out with this bowling attack…
Finally, you are not giving the South African bowlers the respect they hv earned in recent times. Andrew Nel, Nitini, Pollock are world class bowlers and proven match winners, not like our air bags of one day series…
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
^ I am sure the flukers/air-bags will prove you wrong and proud at the same time :insha:
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
i'd rather see yasir open with salman than bazid...
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
Well have a look here … this is not a good sign …
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
Well, weather report was the same for the last two ODIs, shower and rain, but on the day the weather was very nice for cricket. Besides, match is 4 days from now, it will change. So worry not.
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
Is Run-Nakko Morton gonna be playing?
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
Looks like Pakistan just might save this game then ![]()
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
I tell you once again Younis and Asim needs to sharp their nails for centuries. They need to get into that mood as wickets seem to be perfect for batting. As seen in the recently concluded Saffies series. If these two make big scores, Yoyo's usual classic batting against spinners along with Openers giving early 60-70 partnership and Afridi, Razzler and Rana chiping in with 30-70 runs will provide us a good 400+ score. If we have a consistant middle order, it takes a lot of burden off the bowlers shoulder automatically. WI except Lara will struggle against Afridi/Danesh.
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
unfortunatly no
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
I never denied that Danish will be our main weapon in this series and we will rely on him to get five wicket hauls in at least two of the four innings.
Regarding SA, I am giving them credit for what they did in SA but same Ntini Pollock and co loset series after series nto recently. Whole world recognizes that Pollock is not as effective as he used to be and he no Glenn Mcgrath who will extract a lot of bounce due to his height. Main reason for their success is the aggressive Nel, who is NOT a proven match winner (you can check his record) by any means but he fights and thats what SA team recently lacked. Anyways You can post your reply regarding this but this thread is not about SA so i would pass :-p
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
sab kuchh bol liya phir aakhir mai kehtay ho “i would pass”
:k:
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
We know shoiab malik has one match suspension and have discussed that issue previosluy. I was just reading somewhere that shoaib malik won't be able to play in the first test match at Barbados and that made me think what would happen after the first test? Do you think that the test side currently has a slot for him? Younis, youhana, inzi, kamal, akmal, raazak, one specialist spinner, and 2 pacers. These are the players with fix spots in the side atleast for the time being. I don't see him playing in the side as a specialist spinner. Again the only slot left is the opening slot for which there is a competition between yasir, butt, bazid, afridi and malik. I am in favor of keeping butt as one of the opener.
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
^^ Yea me too. I like him as a openner i.e Salman Butt. You raise a good point.
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
Shahid Afridi & Pakistan Zindabad!

Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados

Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
Where can we find you after the test series? Because I am sure you won’t be posting on this forum after that:D
**My advice is try to find a westindian forum, they will like you there. **
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
