Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 2nd ODI, 9th June 2012
did master blaster, future Viv Richards, pakistan's biggest sensation janab hazrat umar akmal play? oh i think he did...but he did not deliver as always.......
to his defence (only this ODI): he got a rough decision from the umpire
Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 2nd ODI, 9th June 2012
And he was playing like an idiot before that. A certified, bona fide, de facto idiot.

Seriously, the sooner we get rid of these so-called Akmal brothers, the better it will be for humanity. In fact, don’t dislike Adnan Akmal that much, hes just plain annoying, but his biggest shortcoming is that he was born in the Akmal house.
Faking injuries, dropping catches, playing like kittens (ugly ones at that), tulla bazi, grouping, politics, and whatnot.
Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 2nd ODI, 9th June 2012
The Master Blaster, the Future Viv Richards, The Biggest Sensation and what not of Cricket world, janab Umer Akmal was playing and as usual, he didn't delivered.... keep let him warm the bench for next 3 games and he may get his senses back
That's the biggest may I've read this side of June.:ASA: He'll never get his sense back, mainly because he Umar Akmal doesn't have any sense. I am not talking about the recent matches, or yesterday's encounter, the guy's always been like this. And doesn't look like he'll change one bit. On top of that he is a shaddy/shoddy character. As the queen in Alice in Wonderland used to say, off with his head!
I don't condone violence, but sometimes I do have an inclination to kick Ramiz Raja right between the eyes on how he used to overhype this kid. I really do, and don't mind if I did smack him if I ever met Ramiz.

When the environment around him (and others) does let go through such antics not once not twice but on regular basis what message do u think is sent out to all socalled super stars ????
But then again a whole society and thus country needs an overhaul in this very aspect .....

Ramiz is trying to be the Pakistani version of Tony Greig ..... however at times i think he makes a mockery of himself while trying to spice/hype things up
Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 2nd ODI, 9th June 2012
This I can agree with.
Sometimes I think we deserve better players. Then again, sometimes I think we don’t. But anyway, I’ll happy select a million Azhar Alis in my team before I even think of Umar Akmal. By the way, that was in some respects the point I was making.
If Azhar Ali can come from the same environment and know his limits, this kal ka chokra should too!
And failing miserably at that, agreed.
He was an average player, and now an average commentator. But he seems to be trying too hard to give a media face to Pakistan’s cricket. But the guy himself needs a lot of grooming and learn to manage his expectations.
How can a player who can’t improve on his shortcomings in a few months, years, be deserving of so much praise that he bestowed upon Umar Akmal. Somebody ask him that. It’s almost like Umar Akmal thinks he was born Bradman.

Give it a rest, we try to run down everything Pakistani. If he was a gora we would have been all over him and praising him. Ghar kee murhgi daal baraber.

Well if u listen to gora (who have atleast knowledge of the lingo) and judge it that way than only a handful of the whole lot are useful .... i name a few i like listening to ..... Richie Benaud, Bill Lawry, Michael Holding, David Lloyd, Mike Haysman, Tony Cozier, Harsha Bhogle, Wasim Akram (way better than Waqar and Ramiz), Michael Atherton, Geoffrey Boycott, Jeremy Coney
There surely are good commentators but many of them have a tendency to bias ..... the above lot isn't absolutly unbiased but atleast they (to my limited knowledge) keep things a bit balanced
Praise the quality of Cricket and be critical at lack of it .....
that for sure isn't an easy task and given that some of the comms can't afford to be too critical of a side or player in order to keep the Cricket Board and Broadcasters Harmony

He should be himself .... not hyping up and dressing down in space of one over ..... BD has also such a namoona named Athar Ali Khan
Like PD i love Daal :D
The Gora comms i turn off are G Chappel, Ian Botham, Robin Jackman, Ian Smith, Paul Allot and Bob Willis (the Most Boring i ever listened to)

Unbelievable Tony Cozier still active. Loved hearing his commentary during recess at school when windies gourde India I think in 1975. Also like holding a lot.

I don’t believe that, you must have someone in your mind when you said that. ![]()
