Well…India WAS in the Semis against SL in Calcutta in INDIA…did u forget that??? Coz they (India) did not lose gracefully

Imran Khan and Wasim Akram were live in Geo super's analysis. They were of the view that Pakistan need to play Saeed Ajmal and should drop either Hafeez/Shahzad and put Akmal to open. Akram said that Razzaq and Hafeez wont be able to bowl 10 good overs on these pitches.

Do you guys agree with them? I personally am a fan of saying 'Don't fix what ain't broken'. Pakistan has a combination thats working. So it should be persisted with at least until the group stage is going on.

;8060940’]They are not using Razzaq correctly. Afridi said in post match interview he(afridi) is a bowler then why he is coming before Razzaq. Razzaq is good hitter than Afridi. They should give Razzaq chance. Recently in a interview he said he wants to bat up in the batting order. Even he can open the batting like England doing with Peterson its risky but they have to take risk. Today against Kenya opening was horrible.

My 11 with batting order:

1. Razzaq
2. Ahmad
3. Younis
4. Kamran
5. Misbah
6. Hafeez
7. Umar
8. Afridi
9. Rehman/Wahab
10. Umar
11. Shoaib/Junaid

90% agree with you but i don’t think so Razzaq can bat as opener in ODI. They can bring him No. 4 or 5 at least

I would listen to the legends..make room for a specialist bowler and go for the wickets...Pak is 250 runs team unless there are 50 runs in extras.

I'd surely want to see Ajmal for hafeez, He is extremely ordinary batsman who will from time to time, score a 50+ inning but does not add value to team on regular enough basis for me.

But I do have a feeling that they will not break the combo of Hafeez/Shahzad so early in tournament...But SL's batting line up is too strong to be playing both razaaq and hafeez and expecting them to give 10+ overs under 6 RPO, too big of a risk IMO

The Colombo wicket is a batsmen's paradise. If SL bat first, it will be extremely importan for Pak to contain them to a reachable score especially given that they have the likes for Murali & Mendis to bowl on the slow tracks.

Afridi remains a fool...he shouldn't talk about his tactics or strategy infront of the press/media before or after the match...he should keep them to himself and his team-mates/management...hmmmmmmmmm

Hafeez's game has improved a lot in this last outing compared to what he was during Inzi's era, he should be persisted with, he can be sent down the order if not open.

Hmm, I am rather skeptical of this approach. Pakistan has always been reliant on bowlers more. And can always bank on them to bail them out. And this is why they are shoring up the more volatile part of their game (batting). I dont know how its gonna pan out. Reports are that they are going with same combination for this game. And I also think that any changes will come later in the tournament and not now...

to add 1 more specialist (junaid or wahab) would have helped...it would not weaken the batting...
Unless Abdul razzaq comes in with atleast 8-10 overs remaining on no pressure on him with a lot of wickets fallen Pak can't expect much from him. So they need to Either shuffle batting - He should be sent ahead of Afridi or replace him with a full time bowler...atleast in some big games in this first stage of the WC to see what works best before QF stage.

Though the two teams have not met eachother in World Cups since 1992, SLA's record against Pakistan in world cup matches is similar to ours against India. They have met Pakistan 6 times in World Cups and lost each time

SLA's improvement started in 1996/7 though
