I agree its too early to say but atleast it will be in the back of other players mind and motivate them to perform consistently.

Lunch time now. Inzi looks in fairly fine touch. Lets see whats in store after lunch.

A really good example of temprament :k:

Taufeeq Umar (LHB) 28 106 4 0 26.42

u r disgraced yoyo beofore by blaming him for paki collapse…he has done so much for pak and yet u r not satisfied… racism…

i meant to say "u disgarced yoyo" in earlier message

63-2 at lunch.

Inzimam looks in tremendous touch and with Taufeeq looking rock solid at the other end this will be the crucial partnership for Pakistan. A win looks unlikely with the loss of two early wickets.

Not a bad session for Pakistan with only losing the one genuine wicket, but a bonus for South Africa in getting the crucial opening partnership broken through a poor decision...might well have saved them from a 2-0 hammering which they deserved.

^^ I didnt see Imran's dismissal maye in highlights i will but Yasir failed unexpectedly, you are right extreme. He always dominates while he is out there but fails so suddenly.

I dont think a win is out of question yet. If Inzi keeps going we might get there. Yes, it not very likelt that we will push for it. But who knows Inzi in full flow can be very dangeours. Taufeeq is sighting the ball ealry and if we decide to go for the score he can play his shots.

Ditto:k:

yaar :(.. that Imran’s decision was a big flop. even flopper than Smith’s second Innings decision..
The ball pitched on off stump, was clearly moving away from the left hander.. when it touched the pads it was way out of the off stump. and I dont know waht made the umpire giv the decision.. and then Yasir :smack:

come on yarr..... be realistic.... based on pakistan performance throughout in our cricket history while chasing a score, given the fact that we lack nerves to stand up in cruical moments, one has to be extremely optimistic to predict pakistan win.....u dont start fifth day by scoring 11 runs in 11 overs when u aim to win a game......u gottta be aggressive and that is how u bring ur opponent in pressure... now i m not sayin that pakis did anything wrong today... based on their caliber, that is all they r capable of doing anways... from first ball they were playin to draw the game and that was a clear stratgey set by coach and captin... they r not playin for a win...and i did not not expect anything else from them either... it pakis can draw this match, that wud me more than enuf... u will see some drama if any of these two goes back after lunch withpiut stayin long....

All depends on this afternoon session, if we get through this with minimal loss, we can weigh up our options on runrate and batting strength left.

If that is the case, then its most unfortunate coz they were all set for a world record (aka 4th century stand in a row :D )

It wasn't even close. The worst decision I have seen for a long time and more surprising as it came from one of the most respected umpires. There was some hazy conditions at the time, maybe he couldn't see properly. South Africans were appealing for everything, it could be he was feeling the pressure.

The strategy was to see off the new ball and not lose 6 quick wickets to it like on the 3rd day which has probably cost us victory.

In fact we have used this same strategy to get 100 run opening stands in the last 3 innings which provides a perfect base to launch an attack on the tiring bowling.

Your thinking is flawed and panicky and the very reason why our top order has failed in the past. I would like to pay tribute to our openers who have calmly seen off the new ball consistently in this series and hopefully you will agree with that.

A couple of boundries and a beatiful on driver for 3 in the last over. Could this be the start of the real chase ?

Somehow i think Pakistan will keep on playing 'safe' until the tea. If wickets in hand, then they may rethink their strategy for the last session.

Another over with a couple of scores. We are definatley picking up the scoring rate. So if this keeps going on until tes we are really in it with a chance.

Still a RR of 4.0 is required in the last 49 overs... possible but very difficult...

Very Negative bowling by Kallis... Throwing everything outside off...

51.6 Kallis to Taufeeq Umar, no run, short in length ball, outside off,
left alone
51.5 Kallis to Taufeeq Umar, no run, outside off, swigns away, left
alone
51.4 Kallis to Taufeeq Umar, no run
51.3 Kallis to Taufeeq Umar, no run, pitches outside off, swings away,
left alone
51.2 Kallis to Taufeeq Umar, no run, short and wide otuside off, left
alone
51.1 Kallis to Taufeeq Umar, no run, well outside off, left alone
