IMHO Pakistan should open with Malik and Imran. Malik has shown he can stabilize. Where as Imran can hit the bowling out of contention. Akmal is better off keeping wickets...like he showed he can catch and stump in the 2nd ODI.

With Afridi out and PCB most likey not to file an appealPak should try Rehman as the middle overs spinner. The line up can be:

1. Imran Nazir
2. Shoaib Malik
3. Younis
4. MoYo
5. Inzimam
6. Akmal
7. Azhar
8. Razzaq
9. Abdur Rehman
10. Sami or Naved
11. Asif

Good selection of the side, but Naved will stay and Sami have to wait. Hope they will bring in Rehman NOT Rao. Batting order will not change, they will try Akmal as opener again. However, if Imran, Akmal, Younis, Yousaf, Inzi and Malik survived 35-40 overs then Razzaq will come ahead of Mehmood.

Sami comes in to replace Rana, the biggest run leaking machine that ever hit Pakistan. While Hafeez replaces Afridi and Akma drops to his natural place, down where he cannot make any difference.

If they bring in Hafeez rather than Abdul Rehman for Afridi then they should rest Akmal and give chance to Haider, and could use batting order of:

1. I. Nazir
2. M. Hafeez
3. Y. Khan
4. M. Yousaf
5. Inzi
6. Malik
7. Razzaq
8. Mehmood
9. Haider
10. Rana
11. Asif

But it will wise to use Abdul Rehman rather than Hafeez to have atleast three regular bowlers in Asif, rehman and Rana, and three alrounders in Mehmood, Razzaq and Malik. In this case, they should use a batting order of:
1. Akmal, 2. Nazir 3. Younis 4. Yousaf 5. Inzi 6. Malik 7. Razzaq 8. Mehmood 9. Rehman 10. Rana 11. Asif

SA,s record on this ground, played 23 won 20 lost 3 Pak,s recordon this ground,played 5 won 0 lost 5 (2 of those 5 games were day only matches and Pakistan,s scores in those two matches were 43 all out and 114 all out)

Records mean nothing. Look at the Durban records for Pakistan and look the results of the second ODI.

I'd never thought I'd say this but I hope we see Rao instead of Rana. And yes Rehman would be the natural replacement for Afridi. But with Pakistan you can never be sure what surprises await us.

This is the ground where Pakistan was dismissed for 43 in 1993 against Windies in the Total Series. That remained the lowest ever ODI total for a long period of time. Still remember that disaster :)
