Re: Pakistan vs England 3rd Test in Dubai - Feb 3-7, 2012
**Game in the balance
**England would feel that they can get this total (324) having knocked off 36 runs for the loss of no wicket.
At one stage with Azhar and Misbah going along nicely, a lead of 400+ seemed like a mere formality (and it would have shut England out of the game completely regardless of the time left in the game). A target of under 350 does not create that sort of pressure. When Misbah fell, Pakistan slipped into old bad habits losing 5 wickets for 19 runs during a crazy 30 odd minute period just before tea. Both Asad and Adnan threw away their wickets playing careless shots or shots which were quite unnecessary at that stage. The rest just folded meekly, infact the last 7 wickets added only 34 runs to the total!!
If you take away Younis and Azhar's innings, 81 runs is the contribution of the rest of the 9 batsmen!!!
288 runs to get with all 10 English wickets and 2 full days remaining ... Anybody's game I w'd say at this stage. As always the morning session tomorrow will be crucial to the outcome of this game. The longer this opening partnership continues the more confidence it will give to the rest of the English batsmen
Re: Pakistan vs England 3rd Test in Dubai - Feb 3-7, 2012
I feel Pakistan's tail has consistently failed and coaching staff need a lot of work on them
And like in the last game (when Junaid bowled a total of 8 overs in the entire match!!) the inclusion of Cheema makes no sense to me esp. on these pitches. Younis Khan is a more than handy part-time medium leg break bowler
Could have played an extra batsman given how useless our tailenders are with the bat...
I mean why play Junaid or Cheema (both complete mugs with the bat as well) if they are barely gonna get any bowling!
Re: Pakistan vs England 3rd Test in Dubai - Feb 3-7, 2012
^I agree, its absolute nonsense to keep a bowler in the side for 10 overs in the whole match, who cannot even bat. Even Wahab would have been a better choice with so many left handers in English side or Umar Akmal shud have been included.
Secondly, those who were asking for Pakistani batsmen to go beserk after total reached 300 runs shud think again. Umar Gul played like 38 balls for 2 runs. He had no problem blocking the spinners but every time he tried to hit hard, he found it difficult and eventually got out.

I am very disappointed. I was hoping to see score of 400+ but looks like nobody else was interested enough to grind it out.

Probably they don't want to add Wahab until 'all is well' i.e. investigations.

If England doesn't self-destruct, they have plenty of time. Their batsmen have a lot to play for..some are playing for their spots in the team. I don't think it will be a breeze for our spinners tomorrow.
Day 4 pitch will help the bowlers though....England is playing 5 or 6 lefties.. Rehman will be pitching it in the rough and let the ball do it's thing. Pakistan should hold-on to the catches. It should be a good contest.

Gul 20 20 player
33.6
Abdur Rehman to Cook, FOUR, **dropped**, terrible judgement! Pakistan should have had Cook there, Cook sweeps and gets a top edge that swirls towards Gul at deep backward square **leg, Gul had all the time in the world to get under it but he barely got behind the ball **

Array yaro kyun pareshaan hotay ho, series toh hum nay jeet hee lee hai aab england koh bhi thora sa khush honay doh. I am not really concerned about the result, I would like Pakistan to win but if not, no problem.
In this series we have well and truly put "bhaan" to England.
