given the pressure, mental turmoil, quality of opposition bowling, ..younis innings will be right up there with misbah's innings that he played against india in 2007 in kolkata....India scored 610, Pakistan was 150 for 5 bust misbah batted for almost 10 hours and scored 161 to save the test match for pakistan single handily..to me that will be the best innings ever played by a Pakistani given the pressuere (with hanif's 337)....

Its a good knock but the 'pressure' is not as much in this match IMO as they only lost 2 wickets. Had we lost 5-7 wickets cheaply again then it would be pressure situation. Anyways it is a very good knock, it took a while, I was expecting in 1st 2 matches from Younis.

Alhamdolillah good recovery batting by Pakistan, 180 is good lead. I hope they can build it to 300+ then we will be in good position.

the last time a team won a test match having been bowled out in the first innings for under 100 was in 1907 ... Pakistan has every chance to repeat the history over the next couple of days after 105 years!!! Go Green Shirts ... beat England and make us proud again!

Beside all my criticism from time to time on slow batting, let me admit Azher and Younus has pulled Pakistan from the brink to the position where game is Pakistan’s to lose.

I hope they dont take it for granted tomorrow and bat like they did today. If nothing else, I wish they can get lead past 300 tomorrow. as phoenixdesi mentioned, it has only happened 5 times (last time more than 100 years ago) that team won the game after scoring under 100 in first inning and Pakistan is all set to repeat the history!

If everything goes favorable Pakistan should bat the whole day tomorrow. Get a good healthy lead (400+), tire out the opposition, and give the pitch plenty of time to deteriorate; after that bowl on day 4 and 5.
however, most likely scenario is that Pakistan get all out midway through the second session tomorrow. The lead by then will probably be around 275. So it again will be a very interesting fourth innings chase.

Or even 350+ lead would be good as well. It will keep England on pressure for sure. Good job Azhar and Yonus!

England's best chance to restrict Pakistan is to get some early wickets tomorrow morning - the new ball is just 2 overs old, so still very new. If Anderson and Broad fail and both Younis and Azhar survive the first 30-45 minutes of play, I expect more of the same attritional batting effort from Pakistan on day 3
Fingers crossed, Pakistan should be able to bat atleast until tea tomorrow (That w'd ensure a lead of 350+)
