I think there is hope... We need quick wickets in the first session and contain the eng. batsmen... the bowlers need to show their class and the team spirit should be up high.. inzi needs to stand up for the team and make the changes quicky if things ain't going rite.
kaneria is our best bet... i hope shobi n shabbir continue to excel and put a scare in the england dressing room. And for God sake, keep SAMI out of the pic... the guy gives too many easy runs... and provides loads of confidence to the opposing batsmen....
I hope our team comes out with fire and determination as they did in test 3 in india...
Totally agree. Cannot believe Asim could be dropped specially in Pakistan. For a Team which is full fo stroke players It is always good to have likes of Asim and Butt to give that anchor. Asim is the guy who can spent lot of time in the middle
We needed at least 50 more runs, Raza, Shoaib Malik and Youhana should have made 15-20 runs more each. England won't have an easy time since Trescothick was a huge wicket but this is a savvy team that knows how to seal the deal.
Yes they know how to seal the deal but will they be able to do it effectively without choking? I doubt it. During the ashes although england was the better team but still showed that they need to improve their killer instinct. During the series they almost choked couple of times and thats what I am hoping will happen on the final day at Multan. Pakistan need to make an impact immediately in the first few overs to unsettle the english players. If they do that, England will choke, and in that case Pakistan’s only hurdle will be flintoff.
In a nutshell, they have more match winning batsmen then we have match winning bowlers. Kaneria alone won't be able to cut it if he doesn't have wicket taking support from the other end. Our bowlers need to step up (this means shoaib and sami!!)
Yoyo has lost his touch. He is so talented player but often goes for lousy and unneccessary shots lately. He needs a century or double to come back into staying on the pitch mood.
Hats off to Butt, he sure is our future as opener. He used the most common 'common sense' of opening in Test cricket, 'Stay on the wicket and wait for the right delivery'. May he continue the form and concerntration in next two matches as well.
Hassan Raza has proved once again that he is a domestic champion and has no guts or clues about Int'l cricket. He must not be included in the next match squad. Instead give Afridi his place, atleast Afridi assures double figure with variety in his bowling. Yes I opposed Afridi's inclussion as opener, but he can come for Hassan's place. I say either play Afridi or bring Asim back.
Don't be disheartened guys, I reckon there is till hope. The lads have to get their act together and bowl to a strict line tomorrow. I must admit, I have been very disappointed with Hasan 'diamond' Raza in this test match + once again with pcb's prodigal son Sami, who should be replaced by Rana in the 2nd test.
