Serves Pakistan right for selecting the great batting legend Kamran Akmal. Scored 6 and 2, dropped couple of catches and couple of missed stumping. He has no clue where the ball is heading and should also be blamed for the missed review.

More things change more they remain the same - at least when it concerns Mr. K Akmal.
Re: Pakistan vs Australia - 3rd ODI - 2012
Though we lost the series 2-1, Pakistan were competitive in all three games. Once your openers put on a hundred partnership in a one-day game you are expected to score atleast 270-280
Misbah made three tactical blunders:
Sending Afridi up the order was a big mistake. Even after 16 years in international cricket this guy has no idea how to build an innings and when to attack. He still bats in the same brainless fashion regardless of the match situation and regardless of the conditions
Taking Ajmal off after 5 overs was another big blunder. Australia were tottering at 150 odd for 5 and another wicket or two at that stage might have completely derailed their chase. It is not just Misbah but I have seen other captains make the same mistake time and time again. When you have the opposition on the mat with a bowler on song you as captain should only be thinking about finishing the game there and then at that stage and not worrying too much about who will bowl the final overs. That is the mindset of a defensive not an attacking captain. Ofcourse you then run the slight risk of leaving your team exposed in the death overs esp. if your premier bowler(s) fail to take more wickets but as captain you should be quite prepared to take that risk. You will win more games than you will lose in those situations by employing an attacking strategy. There is absolutely no point in bringing back your best bowlers with the opposition needing say 40 off the last 10 overs with 4 or 5 wickets in hand
The missed review against Hussey when he looked plumb LBW proved to be costly. I know Ajmal was unsure or didn't want it but Misbah should have been more assertive and taken it knowing the batsman in Q was Hussey and knowing the history against us
