Re: Pakistan V South Africa - Warmup match Monday 1 June

bad day for subcontinent teams.

Noy the case, I was supposed to go but didn’t end up going…

Question for Ehsan,

Did you go to the game yesterday?

I knew a no of people who saw both the games at Trent Bridge. They told me that Bangladesh team did well especially with their batting.

They also told me the fact that as soon as the Australia V Bangladesh match finished; the South African team was straight out on the ground warming up, practicing their fielding drills etc.

On the other hand the Team Pakistan were no where to be seen and came out very late to practice / warm up. Th team's physical trainer was seen telling the players to get out on the field and the the coach Intikhab Alam was just standing in the middle with his arms folded.

The Pakistani players did come out finally after a long time and their fielding practice etc was being conducted by their Physical Trainer; again the coach doing nothing and standing in the background.

I am just wondering whether the coach is doing his job properly and if the physical trainer is doing things the cpach should be doing.

Did you notice this at the match yesterday and your thoughts on this.

kyun apna khoon jalate hain uncle — ye sudherne wale nahi :hehe:

That was a warm phenti

I was at the game yesterday but did not see the BD game. When I got to the ground the BD match was just finishing.

The SA team came out immediately and started to practice after teh Aus V BD match. Pak team was nowhere to be seen. Eventually our gora trainer came out and than the coach who was joined with Shoaib Malik. No one else came out. It was only afer the toss that the team came out and started practicing. Even at the toss Smith was waiting for Younis to join him for the toss. However it is not correct to say that the coach was just standing around. He was involved in the practice and was giving slip catch practice.

My view is that our bowlers bowled very well and did a great job in restricitng SA for under 200 runs as it was supposed to be a batting strip, however our batsmen let us down especially Butt, his fielding was pathetic and his batting useless, as usual.

The turning point for me was when Misbah was run out, it was a clear struggle after that.

Two players impressed me from our team, Ajmal and Shehzad.

Re: Pakistan V South Africa - Warmup match Monday 1 June

Having Salman Butt in the team as a batsman rightaway gives the opposition and edge.... and their morale goes sky high...
