This is the new trend of our team, we just cant finish it off. Even though Pak fought well but in the end it didn't matter. To me the most crucial miss was the run out of Raina by Malik.
Because there is hardly anyone who can bowl few decent yorkers in last overs.
cant understand this "well played pakistan" mentality as if we are zim and bangladesh....
Considering what turmoil our cricket went through of late, I will take this 'well played, Pakistan' mantra any day. Because we see fighting spirit and aggression in the team :)
well I thought he captained well - you cannot do much with all those misfields and dropped catches, missed runouts
Exactly! But at least he doesnt stand there and barks at his players. He tries to lead by example...I am sure our fielding will improve given the efforts put in

There is losing without any effort and losing close matches. you cannot win every match but if you play well and then lose than there is no harm in appreciating the effort.
the most entertaining moments were the verbal spats between the players . . . . especially the face off b/w gambhir and akmal. . . .both of same height and built . . . . made for each other. . . . and shoaib with his hand gestures and facial expressions at the end . . . . man, he’s really entertaining . . . . .
wonder what he was trying to say pointing two fingers. . . .
Disappointed but not downhearted after loss. Pakistan fought well till the last over but India were always favourites to win after that stand between Gambhir and Dhoni.
Pakistan should have done better than 267 after those two early partnerships. At one stage even 300+ was on.
More than the missed run-out of Raina simple lapses in concentration on the part of two batters cost us the game. Salman Butt played well for his 74 but it is still no excuse for the way he needlessly ran himself out going for a non-existent run. That was silly. Then Umar Akmal played a really bad shot when he was well-set at a crucial phase of the game. He should have been looking to stay at the wicket. I don't know why he is so impatient. Someone like Miandad should call him and give him an earful because Umar seems very prone to lapses in concentration. That was his undoing today.
In the end we did not make enough runs and probably should have made atleast 285-290 after the start we had. It is little things like that that can make the difference between wining and losing a game.
Fielding could be better and we can also do without those silly runouts.
Pakistan became firm favorites to win this game as soon as they won the toss and elected to bat (tosses are that crucial here).
India chased down the total under those crappy lights which is very creditable.
That being said, India has to find a replacement for Ravinder Jadeja. I am not sure what the selectors see in him that I don't see. He is a mediocre spinner and a mediocre batsman (make that crappy batsman). Saeed Ajmal did a huge favor to India by bowling Jadeja before Jadeja could do much damage (to India's chances that is).

but how come we are the one who always lose in tense matches?.....yes only one team has to win but how come we are always the losing side….that is what i am scared of...it appears as if Pakistani team is content with making matches competitive without bothering to go for one last hurrah that would take them beyond the finishing line…..it has become a psychological habit…, if I rely on my memory, there are over 10 matches in last 12 months where we lost in tense situation…two 20/20 matches against Australia, 5th ODI against Aus, the Sydney test math, a 20/20 against NZ, match against sril-lanka 2 days ago, today against India and the list simply goes on…..we did not win a single tense game….to saby’s point, given the turmoil in our cricket, playing a close match is probably good enough for viewers and it seems that our players have also sensed it….that is why they don’t bother to apply themselves in critical phases…what are we proud of after losing all these tense matches....as i said before, are we zimb and bangladesh? may be we are....so playing close matches should be good enough for us and we should be content with it....

When Afridi can be captain for Test side, Imran Farhat can make a 'come back' without doing anything, we really are Zim/Bengladesh. I am really glad I am not wasting my time on this team anymore :)
