Only two outcomes possible in this game, an English win or a draw
England are in control. 311-run lead should be more than enough but Cook being a safety first captain might bat on for half an hour or so tomorrow.
The pitch is flat and Pakistan have no excuse whatsoever not to get a draw on this wicket. However funny things are known to happen on the final day of a test. It is not often the pitch or the bowlers or even the umpires. It is the pressure of survival, of knowing that only one team can lose the game.
Pak fans including guppies here need to take a chill pill. We are often too harsh on our team.
We need to learn how to support our team rather than always putting them down.
Have we seen what England did to Sri Lanka just before us (2-0)? or what they did to India in 2011 and 2014. England beat Australia and NZ at home last year too.
Look at Aussies in Sri Lanka currently. Look at the last two times England came to UAE or what happened to Aussies in UAE.
Look at what happened to South Africa in India.
Indeed there are certain areas in which we need to improve principally batting and catching but despite that we have competed well in this series.
Playing away is very difficult these days for ALL teams.
Oh come on what a comment, what did the english bowlers do in the first innings they constantly bowled outside the off stump and our batsmen left the balls hence the slow scoring on day 2. Give credit where it is due. We are always critical. This team is doing very well with mediocre players. hats off to them.
Pakistan should be able to draw this match. Here is the scenario:
80 overs in the day
Say England play 10 overs
2 overs for changover
68 overs left. All Pakistan has to do is bat for 53 overs with around 7 wickets in hand and at the start of the last hour the teams will agree to a draw with 15 overs left.

agreed 100% . I was thinking keh what is gonna happen to our team.. But one thing for sure with this team. Our test team has matured enough than ODI and T20. Some ppl saying we are performing better coz we have not adjusted our game with modern day ODI and T20 hence we are still doing better in Tests as they are relatively unchanged. Still I feel that if u look at the team and bench , till now they are performing above par.
On the fifth day at lunch...still anybody's game...although England have slight edge to win because of weak middle order and tale of Pakistani batting.
If these can survive another session...it would be very much a draw and if they manage to keep the run rate what it is now...surely then tables can turn by Tea...
