Damn and i thought i could go with wife and kid out tomorrow to do some shopping etc. etc. ...... even 199 could be enough if we bowl like Multan ...... but then this is not same England as in Multan ..... so consider a 250+ target in 60 odd overs a good challange ......
if i remember rightly Pakistan were in good position to chase a 280??? total i think against SAF two years back on this very ground ...... but two quick wickets and they went for a Draw ...... now at that time it was SAF who needed to defend the total in order to square the series ......
Things r slightly different ...... It's England who will bat last and possibly try to chase to a certain point where they feel save doing so ...... they've to be careful too not running into trap while going all out attacking .......
Pakistan will have to apply two steps initially: Bat another 20 overs and get some 50 odd runs ....... Play defensively and stop/prevent singles (not over defensively) for some overs to see what's England strategy ...... Even if u drop catches or miss run outs keep a positive body language (like Afridi & Rana push them) to indicate to England we r who'll dictate terms ....... bowl wicket to wicket as we've seen that most wickets were taken on a fuller lenght ....... it's hard to expect/believe that 14 wickets might fell in a days play but then u never .......

I think this mini collaspe is a blessing in disguise for us. It will give England a realistic chance to attempt a run chase in the final innings. Knowing the cautious nature of inzi, it was possible that unlike an attacking captain, he would have declared only after giving a 300 or 350 target with an intention of a draw. Now all three results are possible, with an english win still the least likely possibility. If we can manage to score 50-70 more runs it's going to be a daunting task for england to chase it. In an attempt to quickly score runs, if they lose some early wickets than Pakistan will be in driving seat. Keep in mind England has the potential to choke. They showed it in Ashes on couple of occasions and than in Multan test as well. And I have a feeling that while chasing a target of 275+, they will choke and crumble again, Inshallah.

Inshallah we will win. They are going to choke again on the last day just like they did in Multan. I just hope that when English players crumble, it should be a combine effort of all Paksitan bowlers and not the spinners alone, otherwise English will start whinning that the defeat is becasue of afridi’s tampering of the pitch.

^ lads lets not count our chickens before thay hatch. At the moment the match is finely poised and I will be very happy if we draw tomorrow, considering the mess we made today.

I totally agree. This can be blessing in disguise. In fect when Pakistan started its 2nd inning I thought Inzi could have been little more positive and should have sent Afridi up the order and do the ‘Banglore’ here. But sadly he didnot chose to do.One may argue that In banglore it was do and die situation since series was on line. But I think same thing could have been done here and sealed the series.
Offence is always best defence.

exactly, i want to play for draw. I’ll be looking to press for win ONLY if we bat upto LUNCH and have a lead of 350+ which looks quite unlikely at the moment.

I can only see two outcomes from this game..A Draw or an England WIN..pakistan can not win this game..NOT A CHANCE..
The only option they have right now is to keep the wickets till lunch which is something that would not happen..i think they will only manage to score another 30 runs and that's it..England has nothing to lose and they will go for the score even if they lose quick wickets...

What if in between scoring runs and losing wickets, england lose all the 10 wickets. Will Pakistan win in that case or still NO CHANCE:D

Bat at least a couple of hours today and score another 50-80 runs. And attack from the word go. That should be the strategy of Pakistan today.

^^ I disagree, Pakistan will bat out till 10 wickets are down, The game has taken a twisting turn as I read in the “The news” sports section that Inzi and Woolmer has made a complaint/request (its your take) to the match referee and M.R had a chat with D. Hair “F$%^&### hole” about his umpiring and his decisions.

What I get from all this is Pakistan are playing in a very hostile condtion, Hair I think is on an agenda to hand Pakistan a loss, by whatever means he can!!!

Inzi looked like he would stomp a mudhole in Hair's rear end! Once again, here we are, hoping and praying that he will save us. I'll be praying that he does so.

On such a flat track (yes it's still flat and wickets fell yesterday because of reverse swing) it will be impossible to bowl england out in less than 3 sessions. If they are going for the target and lose a few quick wickets, rest assured they will immediately start blocking out rather than expose the tail.
The two possibilities are draw and England win. Lets pray that Inzi can get enough runs and consumer enough overs to rule out an England win.

it is difficult decision - to be safe many runs required but early wkts will turn england favor. to win, fast runs required but that means risk for wkts loss. Because england will play last they atleast don't have to confuse what to do - but only reaction to Pakistan do.
better play for draw I think

Actually their middle order can’t block. If Flintoff or Pietersen could stay out there for a longer period … they’d ensure victory… can u imagine them batting and not going for victory?
