Huh

Re: Pakistan V England - 2nd Test Match At Manchester

Next: Pakistan have a two-day game against Worcestershire over the weekend.

So I guess Hafeez and Shan Masood will score 50s while Younis and Azhar will score centuries to come back in 3rd test. Good job!

Re: Pakistan V England - 2nd Test Match At Manchester

Credit to army for helping level the series :D

Bad display of batting in both innings, most of batsmen threw away their wickets, had they focused better they would have batted longer but oh well. I had a feeling the series will be leveled with Stokes, Anderson joining but it was mainly Woakes who continued to haunt the team and get wickets.

The Worcester ground is not far from my house, should go there and do some chitrol on them.

Perfect reaction:

Re: Pakistan V England - 2nd Test Match At Manchester

We always knew that our batting was pathetic esp. the openers

If Pakistan can improve in two areas, batting and catching, I believe we can still be competitive in the remaining two games. Cook was dropped when he had made only 10. Such mistakes cost you games.

I feel that the toss is crucial for Pakistan. If we bat first and score 350+ we can still put pressure on England in the remaining games. I strongly believe that batting first is an advantage in tests if you are able to score 400+/- and have a decent bowling attack. You can control the game from thereon.

To their credit, despite their feeble and inconsistent batting, Pakistan are still the most consistent Asian team in English conditions. We always win a test or two in every test series in England...and I can go as far back as 1982. Same cannot be said about the other Asian teams. India despite possessing a better batting line-up lost 4-0 on their last trip to England. Sri Lanka recently lost 2-0 in England. Their bowlers struggle to take 20 English wickets in English conditions.

Re: Pakistan V England - 2nd Test Match At Manchester

And why the hell do they have two-day side games? I mean what's the point?

Might as well play two one-dayers against two different county sides

Re: Pakistan V England - 2nd Test Match At Manchester

no they did not.
thx

Re: Pakistan V England - 2nd Test Match At Manchester

It all went wrong at the toss I am afraid. The game was effectively lost on day 2 when England made close to 600 runs. It is not a coincidence we have won most games in England when we have batted first after winning the toss. Pakistan cannot win a game when the opposition bats first and scores 400+/-, our batting just cannot handle the pressure. Batting first if we can scrape together 300-350, our bowlers can still apply pressure with the ball. Our current batting is simply not capable of scoring more than 500-550 in two innings in English conditions. So need to find a way to restrict England to around 300 in the first innings. Better catching would help too.

It is a sad state of affairs when a team's batting is so weak.

Re: Pakistan V England - 2nd Test Match At Manchester

Lords test was tribute to army. Old trafford test is for govt :D

Re: Pakistan V England - 2nd Test Match At Manchester

I stand corrected. 4-0 was in 2011. India lost 3-1 in 2014

Re: Pakistan V England - 2nd Test Match At Manchester

You forgot about India winning in 1971 tour 2 to 1 I think. That was not too long ago.

Plus, we now have Dhawan Kulkarni, who can swing the ball. Watch out, England.

Re: Pakistan V England - 2nd Test Match At Manchester

Sometimes silence is golden.

Re: Pakistan V England - 2nd Test Match At Manchester

Mamta Kulkarni can swing the balls as well?
