Umar Gul's late contribution with the bat (39) proved to be vitally important to the outcome + took 3 wickets

chalo shukar ha izzat rah gayee......lol...but a lot of weak gaps for Pakistan.....complete middle order collapse once again.....pathetic bowling with new ball.....very lousy fielding especially under pressure...we are going to play india and SL who are playing veey good ODI crciekt,.....and i am fraid pak team is looking little off color...lets hope for the best!

With this kind of victory I don't see we getting much success in this tournament, some pathetic bowling, pathetic field, good start by openers ruined by middle order (yet again). I didn't watch Pakistan's batting, from the score Nasir looks good but from reviews in here he seems to be unfit for this level.

In that case, Pakistan never deserve to win. We always depend on bowlers to win. But yes, they'll have to play a lot better against Ind/SL.

Didnt watch the game. I always believe a close win somethimes is better than a crushing win. Tournament is long - and only thing that is important is to peak at the right time. Hoping for an interesting tournament.

Not that Hafeez was totally underserving of the title (because he did contribute with both bat and ball) but Gul for me was THE player of the match
Once again this was a case of adjudicators 'blindly' awarding the MoM award to the player who's scored the most runs in a match regardless of whether or not he actually had a decisive impact on the outcome of the match
Coming in at 197/8, Gul's attacking 39 off 25 balls brought us back into the game. He made sure that we batted out the 50 overs. Pakistan could so easily have folded for 220+/- then
Not only that, Gul took the crucial wickets of Shakib and Nasir at a time when both threatened to take the game away from Pakistan
Perhaps Shakib even deserved it more than Hafeez. Played the best innings of the match and picked up 2 wickets
