Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

Who wears a watch cost $4.60 millions? It is only in Pakistan that people takes pride in looting money and display cheapness. Have you seen one of the richest person like Bill Gates displayed any such nonsense? It is purely third class cheap paki mentality should be condemned.

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

PMLN supporters who claim that Sharif was filthy rich before getting into politics, then they are right on one account and wrong on other. That is, Shareef were filthy but not wealthy.

You can guess yourself, that is, if the family was filthy rich then their whole clan would have been filthy rich, not just Shareef Brothers. Fact is that, as compared to Shareef Brothers who own Raiwand palace, expensive properties in Lahore, many expensive properties all over the world, billions in foreign accounts, cousins are poor.

On the other hand, I believe it was their grandfather that started business, and thus daddy Shareef with his brothers (uncle of Nawaz Shareef), inherited a small business. Daddy Shareef, what I know, used all sort of filth to expand in business, like bribing government officials, religion, as well as stealing.

Bhutto nationalised their small business base, but Daddy Shareef got Nawaz close to Zia-ul-Haq, who gave the family every opportunity to loot Pakistan (started in early 80s). Since then, Nawaz is moving in corridor of power looting, plundering and stealing Pakistan, to become one of the richest Pakistani business house today.

They are different then Pakistani landed elites, as landed elites do not bribe officials rather consider them as their servants. Traditionally their making money in government is taking commissions or allotment of properties to themselves and close one.

Shareef thugs harmed Pakistan in big way by bribing every institution in Pakistan (from judiciary, bank officials, bureaucracy, intelligence, police, to even army), using power in government to give themselves edge over others in businesses, and along with that, left everyone behind when it comes to taking commissions and buying properties (occasionally at reduced rate) then using government schemes and funds to develop the areas they invested.

For example: Once, Pakistan had world largest ship breaking yard at Giddani (salvaging ships). In 1980s, ship breaking industry at Gidani used to provide bulk of Pakistan steel need (averaging around 1 million ton of steel a year) and also use to help industries with other salvaged materials. Directly employing over 30,000 workers and around half a million people were getting their earning from this industry, and it was contributing over a billion dollar to Pakistan economy every year.

Nawaz considering that as competition to his own family steel business (Ittefaq foundry), used various tariffs to destroy world largest ship-breaking industry that Pakistan had. Due to Nawaz measure, Gidani ship-breaking yard became non-functional. Meanwhile Shareef thugs were importing steel and using discounted train service to transport them to their foundry, earning boosted profit (obviously without giving any tax), enriching themselves.

This is one example, though there are many such examples, how thug Shareef became filthy rich from just being filthy.

[Note: Gidani ship breaking industry was so much in wreck that in 2001 they did not break any ship for around 9 months.

Musharraf government in 2001 gave huge incentive to Gidani ship breaking industry by reducing tariffs with promises of further incentives. With time, I believe today Gidani ship-breaking yard is employing few thousand workers and is trying to catch up with world leading ship-breaking yards.

Anyhow, one should keep finger cross, as Nawaz is again in power].

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

MQ dear, is this what they deserve ?

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

In other words ‘poori paki qaum chor hay’. “jaisi awaam waisay leader” I give you credit for being truthful.

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

So you are saying it is okay to loot and plunder until you show it off..... oookkkaaayyyyyy.

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

why balme poori Paki quom.... Majority living below poverty line, due to tactics played by these chor politicians (by restricting their right to education and making them junky of the aid in the name of Khairaat read as Benazir Income Supports and bla bla bla), is not chor... They are made to do chori in extreme circumstances and their role models (while doing chori) are these very corrupt politicians who consider chori and corruption their paidaishi haq and this country as their baap ki jaageer.

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

sonti hujhe saan ta gadah gohi na kare

(If you got danda, these donkey’s won’t do hera pheri) :cobra:

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

The more dhanda leader we got in past, the more corruption spread like cancer since partition. Read history of corruption in Pakistan. These so called chor political leaders elected by poori qaum. Hence according to your logic puri quam chor hay and there is no exception. Otherwise take back your words. These politicians are not aliens from other planets, most of them are born in Pakistan.

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

No, I am not saying this.

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

why should I take back my words back. I would be calling Bhuttos and alike chor and won't accept that whole nation is corrupt. People don't select these chors willingly (look at voter turnout and rigging in elections). These politicians are behind corrupting society and they are alien to the roots and values of the land.

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

If Bhuttos are/were chores others are not angels either. Right now N$ have been elected by people as PM of Pakistan. Do you think he and his supporters are honest? He is elected by 'puri qaum', if he is chor, puri qaum is chor. There is no exception. After blaming elected leaders of Pakistan as 'chor' don't act holier than though mantra, which every paki is expert in this.

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

I said Bhutttos and alike (it includes all corrupt and chor politicians) who got power to rectify the things. If they are failed in doing so after gaining chances to be in Government for 3-4 times, it means that they lack ability and willingness. Blaming deprived and exploited people is old mantra of these political parties and their supporters.

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

You are not supreme authority in this. If people vote these chors, they are themselves part of this chor system and they are as much responsible as their leaders. You are no exception. If not take back your words and in future do not make sweeping remarks, which you don't support.

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

I will repeat these remarks forever. Zia ka daur nahi jo abstract art pe zinda rahen log. chor ko chor hi kahoonga, shaheed nahin kahoonga.

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

There has been only one true honest man in the history of Pakistan. His name was Agha Waqar and he created energy from water. Now we have let him go into the wilderness of the unknown and as a result Pakistan is suffering from energy crises.

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

Its all becuase he was not backed by strong lobbies and elite chor politicians and then they label common men as the root of all problems :bummer:

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

LOL I hope you're kidding.

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

People deserve the govt they have. If they keep electing these people than who can you blame? Btw, we all do all kind of short cuts b/c we know bureaucracy is corrupt, and we don't want to wait in line to do things right way. For example, its easier to bribe a traffic cop than going to pay a traffic fine. Why? Its easier to bribe a custom official at the airport than pay appropriate import duty. Why? Shouldn't there be some level of ethics that we should all live by as a society? And why just blame politicians? After all, they are part of same corrupt society and the system.

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

Thats what I'm saying.. people are made to use short cuts, becuase of the corrupt system built up by the corrupt politicians and bureaucracy. Why people going outside from Pakistan start following the rules and regulations all of sudden?

Provide people a sound system and they will follow it. If the leaders set examples of loot , corruption and extravagance then common men should not be blamed for all this.

Re: Pakistan’s Poverty And The Multi-Million-Dollar Watch

that’s not happening… unless…

Brazilians want to be treated as citizens

Naya Brazil
