Pakistan is part of group D along with Windies, Zimbabwe and Ireland. To qualify for Super 8, Pakistan need to be atleast number 2 in their group.

Do you really think people will be calling Pakistan lucky after they will beat Zimbabwe and Ireland to qualify for super 8?

I just think from December on, the team will be playing non-stop till World Cup. Any injuries won't have time to heal and players may already have peaked and started on the downward spiral by the time we get to the crucial games in West Indies.

I had posted this more than a year ago. I hate to say "I told you so!" on these kinds of things, but the frustrating thing is that we, arm chair critics, with barely any knowledge about the game can forsee that our team will be worn out and full of injured players based on common sense and a look at the calender. Whereas professional managers in PCB and national team, whose job it is to prime up our team for big events completely let us down.

Where as Afridi can come 1 down at no. 3. This can help specially if you loose an opener early and still have overs of power play left to hit out. Although Afridi will hit out powerplay or not...

This is an outrageous suggestion. So when we lose a wicket and need some consolidation, you suggest we bring Afridi in and give the other team a chance of making the loss of one wicket into two and spark a mini collapse. Wonderful thinking.

A good innings is where you consolidate in the early part of the innings, with a higher run-rate in the power plays if possible, achieved THROUGH BATSMEN WHO CAN CONSOLIDATE AS WELL. Unleash Afridi and Razzq in the last 10 where they are most useful.
