Pakistan offered medical expertise, water-purification teams and much more. People in New Orleans need all the help they can get. Sun-bathing in California while taking pot-shots at Pakistan is simply tasteless.

its nice that they are trying to help out lekin, why dont they use the same resources to help their own ppl as well? america is a rich country, and can surely support their own ppl but pakistan hasnt been able to provide the basic neccessities to its own ppl around the country. i am just saying if pakistan have the 'resources' to help other countries, why don't seem to have same 'resources' to help their own ppl in the same manner? pot-shots, tell that to the person who doesnt have proper shelter or havent eaten for days in pakistan. n we all know there are plenty of those ppl in pakistan than they are in america.
n i dont live in california or in umrika all together.

Impoverished Afghanistan donates $100,000 to Katrina victims

**KABUL: Poverty-stricken Afghanistan has offered a $100,000 donation to victims of hurricane Katrina that devasted New Orleans in the US last week. **
Mohammad Karim Rahimi, spokesman for President Hamid Karzai, told Pajhwok Afghan News the other day the gesture of the Afghan government was aimed at showing solidarity with the hurricane affectees.
The US embassy here, in a statement issued to the Press, appreciated the move and said President Karzai sent a letter to Ambassador Ronald Neumann offering assistance to the Katrina victims. The statement from Neumann added Karzai’s offer was reflective of the strong ties between the two countries.
Meanwhile, a statement from the presidential office said Khan Muhammad, an Afghan elder, presented to the US ambassador a letter from President Karzai earmarking the funds for disaster relief. He handed the letter to Neumann on behalf of Afghanistan’s people.
Khan observed: The people and the government of the United States have given us extensive support in difficult situations and have played a leading role in the stabilisation and reconstruction of our country; now we want to assist them in their time of need.
Hurricane Katrina, which struck the Gulf Coast of the United States on August 29, has left many Americans dead and thousands displaced.
Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, today signed a decree, on behalf of the people of Afghanistan, for donation of 100,000 dollars to the victims of Hurricane Katrina in the United States, the US embassy statement said. In 2004, Afghanistan received pledges of more than 4.5 billion dollars in foreign aid per year, around half of which came from the United States.

You can read about donations from other countries as well… I would say Saudis and Kuwaitis have been the most generous so far.

Clamaties like Katrina do result in humanity coming together to help the victims. Nothing wrong with Pakistan trying to help in whatever way it can. Now go read “Flimi” section of Bharati rags or watch the bollywood booty shaking around the world. You have no knowledge of Pakistan or Pakistani people.

our government people r ****s.....huge number of people have died in interior sindh due to dirty water but our government is at the highest level of ignorance...we should our people rather then americans...

antiobl- e must be talking about the type of society he moves about in. I mean ppl are all about Islam and islamic system but they forget that in Islam compassion for others is important whether friend or foe.
but I think for some ppl islam is just about making women wear tents, guys grow beards and rip posters and break cds :)
