besides, having China to invest so heavily in Pakistan, what will happen if, God forbid, the relationship between the two countries deteriorates over some issues? Chinese do blame Pakistani terror outfits for the terrorist activities in their Muslim dominated province of Xinjiang.

China has a lot to do with what Pakistan has so far in his armory and how many times have you heard Pakistan’s failed tests or failed weaponry? Hardly any. That tells you how good they are when it comes to defensive modes. On the other hand I’m sure you are aware of how many failures and casualities India encountered due to faulty Russian supplies.
Second, during recent visit NS has already promised to keep every extremist org in control to make sure they dont create problems for China. Thats a big boost to let China trust on Pak as well as these relations are always bilateral.
