Spending money on your countrys defense is imperative, but does Pakistan really need to have the best nuclear weapons? Considering the fact that Pakistan is a nuclear power already and as such has its deterrent isn't it a better idea to use that money to develop the Pakistani health, education services and such?

All Pakistan needs is a small army to manage border incursions and a tactical nuclear deterrent to deter large-scale invasions.

Unfortunately the south asia is in nuclear race and India is big spender there, you can pass the same advice to Indian government while we try that on our side.

India does not spend becoz of Pakistan. India did not go nuclear becoz of Pakistan. India did not develope long range Agni missile for Pakistan...

We share border with a country called China, it has a battery of missiles that pointing towards India, it has nuclear weapons...we have fought a territorial war with China...

SO tha cycle goes on...China keeps on spending on arms...India has to spend becoz of China...Pakistan has to spend becoz of India...

Please tell your all weather CHinese friends to stop spending on weapons so that the cycle ends.

LOl, you guys are biggest non NATO allies of US, we are not…i think being American allies, its your duty to give sincere advice to them…we cant even convince Bagladesh!!

India developed nuclear bomb for both China and Pakistan. Until the day Pakistan went nuclear (May 28th, 1999), Lal Krishan Advani (the then Indian Home Minister) had threatened Pakistan with dire consequences. I remember, from reading Indian newspapers, most of Indians were advocating the govt. to teach Pakistan a lesson. The rhetoric only died after Pakistan conducted the nuke test in response. India played a very active role in the dismemberment of East Pakistan. It trained and supported both financially and militarily the famous terrorist organization "Mukti Bahini" who slaughtered countless non-Bengalis in East Pakistan.

Yes but when does this stop, its madness to keep spending like this especially when Pakistan has its deterrent. Why does it need to have the best nuclear weapons in the world? To me this stinks of sheer egotism by the Pakistani authorities.
