Keep warming up lap of “brotherly countries”. Why do we always bet on losing horse? When the time was right, we did not peruse the pipeline with Iran and now when world environment is changing against Iran in general, we are hell bent on this project.

I have to give credit to Indian politicians. They saw it coming, bargained with US, got better deal from US and got out of the project.

When will we learn that there are no “brother countries”. Its all about country’s interest.

But are we going to get a deal from the US? Forget the current lot, even musharraf was unable to get assurances on “clean coal” technology from the US. US only has advised that they can help in fuel generated power plants and we know we can’t afford it if the circular debt is any indication. I don’t think the pipeline is being made by pakistan, but chips are being placed for a deal with the US. Though, considering the ineffectiveness of the diplomacy of Pakistan, nothing is going to come out of it either. Pakistan has to go through with the current lot of chors now, so that people do “learn” a lesson to elect better people next time.
