China was supposed to be a loyal friend of Pakistan, but it appears that it is not not any more. The project is very much needed to solve the chronic problem of power shortage in Pakistan. If Pakistan able to get this project completed and getting electriciity from India, I think Pakistan will have then surplus power. This will also definitely boostup the image of PPP government.

This is an election year stunt by PPP, which China recognizes, plus they also know the added cost of doing deals with the PPP government.

Chances are, Russia will deny as well, as they should. Pakistan’s problem is not lack of electricity. Its lack of management and bad governance. Tons of electricity gets stolen. If additional electricity gets imported, a major portion of that will get stolen as well.
