Abay you dumbasses would kill Smith if he was still alive. Look at Pakistan's exports for the past 4 years. Our top 10 exports come from one bloody industry. That is textiles. Our highest exporting products are not products they are commodities. Just be happy we don't deal with dead commodities like coffee. The prices of commodities have been falling every year and will continue to do so.
If we are selling textiles or commodities, we are selling raw materials. We do not export any value added product. Value added products are the way India and China ensured their economy grew from 1985 to 2000. They set the foundations for industrial sectors and forced themselves away from an agriculture based economy. As long as Pakistan maintains an agriculture based export formula we are royally ****ed.
One thing about economics, the end figures or data does not mean that the system is healthy or even economic sound. After all look at what happened with Enron.
