Pakistan Chances in SA

Re: Pakistan Chances in SA

South Africa are overrated for sure, but at home they are a serious threat. I think they will back their batsmen to cope with the pace better than ours (and rightfully so), and prepare grassy wickets. Also don't forget the fielding factor, unlike Pakistan I don't think they'll drop too many.

If we had Akhtar and Asif, it would definitely have been a fascinating contest. But otherwise I think I'll be happy if we manage to salavage a draw.

Re: Pakistan Chances in SA

Yes and SKHAN's comment clicks for me as well! They are quite formiddable at their home front.!

Re: Pakistan Chances in SA

Exactly! Scoring 434 on a patta wicket does not make their test match batting line up formidable.

Re: Pakistan Chances in SA

you can't compare india to pakistan at this moment of time. Pakistan are doing very well without asif and akhtar better than most people thought. You can't base a team on 2 people. I think at this moment of time Pakistan have a good chance of beating SA in SA. This is understandable for India this there first time out of flat batting pitches in the sub - cont and I am including WI in nearly 2 years.

Re: Pakistan Chances in SA

^True but which Pakistani batsmen can we say for sure can play on those kind of pitches?
Maybe a pinch hitter like Afridi can wack a 30 odd runs because he likes the ball rising up to him when he wacks and slogs...
but what about our middle order? If our middle order can get 150 runs by them selves I will be happily amazed...

Re: Pakistan Chances in SA

Wait and see...

Personally I don't think Pak will do that bad.

Re: Pakistan Chances in SA

Have you ever watched cricket?

He sucks!

Re: Pakistan Chances in SA

I like to see him play against South Africa and get into verbal exchanges with Smith. He will give him some piece of mind.....

Re: Pakistan Chances in SA

With the return of Asif and Shoaib it will be a different ball game.

Re: Pakistan Chances in SA

*Trust me, trust me, Smith ain't giving us no seaming wickets with the bowling attack we will have now Inshallah. *

Re: Pakistan Chances in SA

You maybe right....they might opt to have competitive pitches like they had with Australia....

we might score 400 as well!!! :D

and even if they do , we might bowl them out under 150 ...

even GUl has learned the art of yorkers now...

Re: Pakistan Chances in SA

pretty damn good now.

Re: Pakistan Chances in SA

Good seaming grounds are Durban, Johannesburg

Spinner grounds is Cape Town

Dead tracks are Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth

Best ODI ground is Centurion.

Do you know what the grounds are where they will play?

Re: Pakistan Chances in SA

pakistan drew the series with them back in the 90s when south africa was a better test team than they are now.shoaib akhtar played well in that one.i think pakistan has a pretty good chance of beating south africa with shoaib and asif back in the team.i mean the test matches.in one day series south africa would have the edge
