^ you forget, whether US can ‘afford’ or not, the one and only way I can see Obama getting re-elected is if the country is in the middle of a war. Ofcourse we as general public have no appetite for avoidable wars. Thank God Obama got rid of his Cheyney

Technically, with the “killing of laden”, the war has lost any justification except for the military brass and contractors who are getting more than their share of fair due.
