**Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway to be Opened by July
**
The Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway will be opened for all types of traffic by July this year. According to official sources, the project is being implemented at a cost of three billion rupees (US$49.4 million). They said the 152 km long motorway would have six lanes and would help promote inter-provincial harmony. They said the highway would provide faster and alternate route between Islamabad and Peshawar. It would cater for international traffic from Central Asian republics, China and Afghanistan to the ports in Pakistan and industrial areas. The sources said that Islamabad-Burhan section and Rashakai-Charsadda section of M-1 have already been opened for traffic. The remaining sections of -Burhan-Swabi, Swabi-Rashakai and Charsadda-Peshawar sections would be completed by July next. The Indus Bridge has already been opened while work on Kabul Bridge is in full swing and will be opened
