With India-Pakistan relations improving, Pakistan has asked India to help in getting the suspension of its membership in the Commonwealth Union revoked. Looks like Pakistan would soon be part of Commonwealth.

India to back Pak re-entry to Commonwealth
ISLAMABAD : Pakistan’s efforts to secure re-entry into Commonwealth are likely to bear fruit as New Delhi has agreed not to oppose restoration of Islamabad’s membership into the club of former British colonies.
The membership was suspended soon after the military coup in October 1999 and the international organisation refused to lift ban on its entry after the elections of October 2002.
