Personal Information
I, Syed Zaid Zaman Hamid, am an incarnation of Iqbal’s “Purasraar Banday”. I am not only a great Pakistani scholar, a philosopher, an intellectual and a spiritual agent but also a gifted orator and a “Mujahid”. Besides, I am a Computer System Engineer and have a vast experience working as a security consultant for multinational corporations. In short, all exalted qualities characteristic of successful, great, charismatic leaders have been rolled today into one person – me!
I masquerade as a strategic defense analyst and am already well-known for my jingoistic BrassTacks TV series based on pseudo-facts and twisted history. In my show I energetically foment racial hatred and religious bigotry. I am more than delighted to see Pakistanis, especially the youth, cheering, applauding and even venerating me as their Messiah! Through them I learned that I’m actually the most insightful, logically sound, scientifically profound, objective, and academically advanced defense analyst in the whole world. So, naturally, I’m emerging as a modern national hero because my penetrating analyses, commentaries, narratives and theories have proved to be superscientific – they go beyond the limits of scientific knowledge into the spiritual realm transcending all science, logic and philosophy.
As a Mujahid I have proudly taken part in America’s imperial “Jihad” against he Afghan people and their reformist/progressive/revolutionary government. Obviously, I am extremely reactionary and my views are close to the oppressive Zia-ul-Haq regime. I have successfully brought back the chauvinist rhetoric of aggression and war against India. At a time when I hear the masses of subcontinent craving for peace, cooperation and even (God forbid!) unity, I demonize India and urge Pakistanis to conquer Delhi. My views on Kashmir, India, and minorities are proof enough to categorize me as an extreme reactionary, racist, jingo and bigot.
I am expert in uttering gibberish at an amazing speed. Do you need proof? Just watch how I rant about the intrinsic evil nature of Jews and the wickedness along with the inferiority of Hindus in my TV show. I simply ignore the fact that the neocons employ the same ethnocentric tactics. The gobbledygook of a clown such as me would have made all sensible people laugh, only if millions of human lives weren’t at stake.
There are some liberals, reformists, secularists, progressives and leftists etc. who do laugh at my claptrap. But the most they do is to portray me as a lunatic. Some days back I found one secular-minded intellectual telling his friend, “Look how stoopid Zaid is. He doesn’t even know what he’s saying.” I would like to tell such people that I’m very much aware of what I am doing. Besides, all my views and theories are mostly consistent with the Ideology of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Yes, the one to which people are indoctrinated by the state machine. From the beginning of the partition Pakistan’s elites have been playing the religion card to contrive a sense of national identity and arouse the population’s loyalty. Religious sentiments have been exploited in the interest of national chauvinism. Children internalize these ideas and notions – the whole framework of thought fostered by the mainstream opinion makers – through repeated exposure. This is why the youth is so receptive to my nonsense. The climate of opinion and the background assumptions of the prevailing ideology make my gibberish appear as most sensible and rational to them. Nonetheless what I personally enjoy the most is that it exhilarates them as I instill hope in their hearts of a brighter future in these times of darkness.
So whose interests am I serving while disguising as a defense analyst and the interpreter of Allama Iqbal? Yes, I am serving the people who have spent billions on nuclear and conventional weapons, sent thousands of youngsters to die in Kashmir on the pretext of “Jihad” while millions in Pakistan do not have food on their plates. The ruling elites of the subcontinent have hired me and I am serving the interests of the reactionary right-wing section of the military-ISI.
I don’t want my Muslim brothers and sisters to realize that Jingoism and Chauvinism which I represent is nothing other than the ideology of the ruling class. I want to hide the fact that jingos, chauvinists, fanatics, Islamists and promoters of war and aggression are a threat to the lives and future of the 1.3 billion ordinary people of both India and Pakistan.
Believe me when I say, “Pakistan is Allah’s secret”. Muslims will remain safe, inshallah – no worries. I see in my mind’s eye that by the will of God Pakistan is emerging as the future superpower. Pakistani Muslims will conquer India and will eventually rule the world.
No faithful and loyal Pakistani should ever expose reactionaries, Islamists, extremists, fanatics and so-called fundamentalists.
