The US will give “safe passage” to Taliban or is it otherwise?

We all know that this “safe passage” for Taliban actually means face-saving exit for the US. But if they want the world to see an ambiguous picture of the whole situation instead of the true one, then let it be. As long as it helps them to leave Afghanistan to Afghanis, we are fine with any kind of interpretation.

As far as we are concerned, no peace effort should go unattended by Pakistan. Any peace arrangment inside Pakistan will not come to proper fruition unless the epicenter of the issue is handled first.

**Afghan Taliban come from the majority segment of the Afghan population and it was always a matter of time that the international community talked to the major share holder. **And I understand that as soon as the epicenter gets normal, the fallout of the entire chaos will also begin to settle down. Pakistan must become part of this effort and invite every party even remotely connected with the issue.

What majority segment of Afghanistan? Your assumption is that Taliban represent Pashtuns there which is totally wrong. There is no evidence that there is popular support for Taliban amongst Pashtuns in Afghanistan, probably the opposite in fact.

The Taliban simply are the only ones who are engaged in resistance against the USA/NATO/ISAF and have support from elements in Pakistan. The Taliban are neither good for Afghanistan or Pakistan. If they come to power in Afghanistan next they will take over Pakistan surely. I doubt they will just accept it as it is. Times have changed.
