strange. i called last week and rep told me that i won’t be charged for the first month bcos its for promotional purposes and only if i decided to keep the channel then they’ll charge me 14.99 per month. yes i already have digital box and basic rogers cable. but i posted wht i was told. call again and talk to some other rep. some of the reps don’t know much themselves and all they do is BS when u ask them. so call again and reconfirm.

Thanks man, i called twice and finally i got someone who knew what she was doing.. the other 2 guys (both desies)… didn’t know jack.. or may be they knew why i was trying to get that channel (to watch cricket)… thats why they didn’t give me the free preview.. but anyways, the lady i talked to, she said she was goana give it to me..so now hopefully i will have my terminal set up by tom, and the games are starting frm tommorow as well. so i am good to go.. again, thanks for the advise

hello people, i just called rogers, they are NOT giving any free previews for channel 640.. i had to buy it for one month.. and the worst part, it doesn’t come until u get the basic cable service (23 bucks) and rent the digital terminal (6 bucks).. and the channel 640 itself is 15 bucks per month.. so its a total of aprox 45 bucks… i dont no where are u all getting urselves free previews.. cuz the guy i talked to, he said there hasn’t been any offers like that for this channel… help plz…

I’m getting it free for a month as well…

but yes, the whole thing is “Free” If you have the digital terminal which most of us who’ve subscribed to ARY or B4U have already… so its a sunk cost and doesn’t add into the whole variable cost equation.

ahh its not the same for all of Canada.

To those of us who don't receive Rogers........ everyone except Ontario. We are stuck with Bell Expressvu and Shaw Cable, and unfortunately we will not be receiving that channel.

So only Ontario wins.

Thanks guys for the info. I just called Rogers to cancel ATN and to sign up for the Carri.

They said the free preview deal was over last week and its not at half price. $7.49 that is.

Also that if I cancel ATN my ARY will be at full price. Right now I am paying $5 for ARY since I have ATN. So for both I am paying $20, which would have been $30.

“Since they were not offering me free preview”, I tried the Desi bootee (which now works perfectly in North Amercia if you know when and how to apply it :D) I told them to cancel ATN (I don’t care if I have to pay full $15 for ARY) and I will not signup for Carri either due to the non-existance of free preview deal. The rep asked me to hold and came back after two minutes and said…Sir if you don’t cancel ATN, we will give you Carri for free for a month and ARY on the discounted $5 also. So for $20 I will watch ATN, ARY and Carri

All you need to do is threat these days. Bell, Rogers and other suckers will bent on your knees automatically. I have got answering machine free for 6 months from Bell, since I threatened to cancell all the bekaar service package from them and also refused to signup for long distance (which I intentionally inquire about during call ) The call ended up with me signing off all the extra features except my basic land line fee and got 6 months answering machine free, for which I had been paying $5/mo.

For UK viewers SKY Sports is showing the games. Coverage starts 2.30pm. So as soon as you get back from work you've only missed 2-3 hrs and have the whole evening to watch cricket woohoo! :)
