and with that Akmal’s place in the team is safe - gotta give it to him though - he’s come through for Pakistan on many prior occassions as well and today’s knock was as good as it gets. I also applaud him for being out there keeping and then batting - not an easy job.
Finally, Misbah got some runs under his belt too.
The truth remains that it was a very stupid decision for Pak to create pitches conducive to spin… granted that Pak has an advantage in spin bowling and they’ve showed it throughout the series but Pak batsmen also cannot play spin well. This last pitch was a good example of a track that provides ample for the batsmen but also something for the bowlers.
Glad to have witnessed the last part of the match - made my day! :k: just wish they played more of the same all the time.
Of more relevance is the fact that each time Kamran Akmal has gone on to score a hundred (5) in one-day internationals, Pakistan have been the winning side
The fielding though was not up to the mark. There were atleast 2 or 3 chances missed in the field but otherwise a really good effort by the batsmen to chase 250.
