Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

Lulz!

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

My prediction is as follows :
Pakistan will get a target between 250-275
Pakistan will make it really tough on them,
Younis or Misbah will not perform in the second innings
this time Azhar Ali or Asad Shafiq would click
we will still be down 3 under 50.
Hafeez will retire from test cricket (this is wishful thinking not a prediction)

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

nah hafeez will still open against SA together with the other legend Farhat. What a sight that will be. Pak 0/2

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

This is soooo true, honestly against any opposition I have started discounting Hafeez`s batting right off the bat, he has become a walking wicket, for an international opener playing for over 10 years uncertainty outside off against average pacers is unacceptable. Kab tak yeh parchiyaan chaleingee ?

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

A reality check for Pakistan's batsmen (minus Younis) ahead of SA series

There is still plenty of time left in this game and anything around 300 is not going to be easy to chase on this wicket

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

It is all about survival now.Winning perhaps is out of the Q

Pakistan's best hope (if they cannot dismiss Zimbabwe cheaply tomorrow morning) is to slow down the rate of scoring by their batsmen so that Zimbabwe cannot declare before Tea.

My guess is we will have to bat out 4-4.5 sessions to save the test.

most likely we will be chasing 300+ ..... a tall order surely given our top 3 batsmen and long tail

Day 3 L/L

Pakistan vs Zimbabwe 2nd Test Day 3 Highlights 2013

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

Looks like a test defeat by Zim is in the works. You would expect Zim to take the lead to atleast 300 tomorrow which is something beyond this batting lineup nor can they bat out a day plus on 5th day.

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

Welcome back to ground

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

Any news of rain for the next 2 days? Things don't look good. What's the score now. Effectively, Zimbabwe were over night 185 for 2. Because they sent in 2 bowlers. So things definitely don't look good, batting 4th and chasing 300 runs. It's certainly possible that Zimbabwe win this match and Zimbabwe may be responsible for some people's career pretty soon. I hope **Hafeez is one of them so we can get a young promising opener for SA series in Oct. **I hope, but I have been a long life Pakistani Cricket fan and all my wishes are based on hope, but reality speaks otherwise.

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

Zim 149/6 with a lead of 213

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

Good news that 2 wickets down this morning. Bad news, Zimbabwe still in control. Anything above 275, Pakistan in trouble. Zim 155/6.
Brendan Taylor* 13, Chigumbura 3
*Zimbabwe lead by 219 runs *

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

Lunch Time. Zim 172/7
Mutumbami* 7, Brendan Taylor 23
*Zimbabwe lead by 236 runs *

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

The lead is 259 with 2 wickets still intact...

Pakistan should try to keep the lead under 300...

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

This is definitely not good news for us. Zimbabwe ** 195/8** (88 overs)

Zimbabwe lead by 259 runs with 2 wickets remaining

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

Zimbabwe all out for 199…

Pakistan to chase 264…should go after the ball and make runs… :jhanda:

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

This is a very good fighting score on a 4th day pitch. I am scared being Pakistani fan.

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

No need to be scared, Hafeez hai na. !!!!

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

Actually some people on other forums were even more optimistic, talking about 150-200 1st innings lead :D

Yeah that was wishful thinking given our batting! but

Just when you think Rahat is crap and not test material at all he bags a 5-fer in the second innings AND
Just when you think Pakistan would/should get a first innings lead they implode from 163/3 o/n to 230 all out and concede a lead

Good work by the bowlers today

265 is gettable but batsmen need to apply themselves. Younis (he is due a failure!) can't bail us out all the time. Hafeez might score some runs at last knowing his test place is on the line. Another failure here and he would (or should) miss the test series against RSA

btw Pakistan's highest 4th innings score in victory is 315/9 v Australia (Inzy got a hundred) in 1995

Re: Pak V Zimbabwe - 2nd Test Match

Hafeez will be better off playing his innings in T-20 style... :D
