Re: Pak v west Indies 5th ODI

With his fourth half-century in five games this series, the world’s leading ODI run-getter of 2013 shepherded his volatile band of batsmen home in another tricky chase. Misbah-ul-Haq battled falling wickets at the other end, a charged up Tino Best, and a rain interruption as late as the 98th over of the game to take Pakistan to their third successive away bilateral series win over West Indies. Yet again this series, Umar Akmal was called upon to overcome the asking-rate towards the end, and once more, he did not disappoint, delivering the series to Pakistan with a 3-1 margin.

Misbah formed partnerships with Ahmed Shehzad, Haris Sohail and Akmal before falling in the last over trying to slog the winning hit, with the scores tied. He had already ensured Pakistan had won the series; a tie would have meant the margin would have been 2-1. …

“Pretty satisfying,” says Misbah-ul-Haq, who is also the** Man of the Match and Series.** “A win is always good, especially after the losses in South Africa series and Champions Trophy. I knew this pitch was really good to bat on, and if we kept batting till the end, nothing was impossible. The bowling has obviously been our strength. Everybody bowled really well, which was the key in this win. Always tough to bowl first, especially in pressure games like this, but everybody was really positive, that we were going to chase well.”

Awesome Performances by Misbah and Afridi in this series \o/

Misbah highest runs getter
:afridi: highest wicket taker

:jhanda:

Re: Pak v west Indies 5th ODI

Afridi performed in only 2 games (1st and last ODI). remains hit and miss player. That final wicket tally of 10 is courtesy of his performance in the first game. Frankly Pak cannot afford to play both Afridi and Hafeez in the same team. Neither is consistent with the bat & one of them needs to go (on recent form it should be Hafeez). Afridi should stay

Pakistan getting ready for the next World cup. The boring Tuk Tuk may lead the team or it could be the Professor. Cant wait for the World and will if the same performance can be repeated when it really matters.
