I may be wrong, lekin I think on his quest for India, Colombus also landed in the Carriebian SP, and when he realised where it was, it was named West Indies, waise I am sure you know the West Indies is a whole chain of Individual Island Countries.

oho, yaar it was his boat which was going to West Indies and he thought boat is going to India, he hopped on a wrong boat and to cover it up he said it was a discovery/adventure.
