An entire day and a session lost to rain. But Pakistan have forced this match towards a result in the remaining time. Champion stuff from Yasir Shah, showing outstanding control for a legspinner playing only his eighth Test. This is only the second time a legspinner has taken a seven-for in a Test innings in Sri Lanka, after Shane Warne v Pakistan in Colombo in 2002
Sri Lanka were 132 for 3 when Wahab Riaz ended the stand between Thirimanne and Karunaratne before lunch. Mathews got a poor decision immediately after the break, and the rest collapsed. By no means an unplayable pitch, but Pakistan were unrelenting. Yasir was a constant threat, even in the first innings, and Wahab Riaz was always around to deliver the breakthrough when needed.

Wahab Riaz impressed me very much. I was not expecting much from him. But he looks much better bowler not only an aggressive grunter

What a remarkable turnaround by Pakistani batsmen and bowlers considering our position at the end of day 3 (118/5 in reply to Lanka’s 300)!
And what a brilliant exhibition of leg spin bowling by Yasir Shah. Wahab was again impressive. Junaid is not penetrative enough. Looking forward to Amer’s return in September
