Required 10 more to beat the best opening partnership against NZ by Pakistan made by Rameez and Shaoib and Rameez is saying they are after my record :naraz:

Re: Pak V NZ First test

444444444 and Hafeez on 88*

Re: Pak V NZ First test

This is Pakistan's highest opening stand in the last 10 years. Craig goes around the wicket now
Previous record was Hafeez and Taufeeq Umar against Bangladesh in 2011. Back over the wicket to Shehzad

Re: Pak V NZ First test

Hafeez in 90s

Re: Pak V NZ First test

Anderson to Mohammad Hafeez, no run, full on off stump, punched down the ground, between the stumps and mid-off. That's Pakistan's highest opening stand against New Zealand

254/1 :jhanda:

Re: Pak V NZ First test

New Zealand have bowled with a lot of discipline since tea, and they've got reverse swing with the old ball and swing with the new ball, so Pakistan are simply playing old-fashioned, risk-free cricket. They will be delighted to go to stumps only one down.

Re: Pak V NZ First test

At stumps Pak 269/1

Shehzad not out 126
Azhar not out 46

Well played Pak. :jhanda:

Re: Pak V NZ First test

I don’t know after how many years Pakistan lost only 1 wicket in whole day in a 1st innings of a test

269/1 (90 overs) :jhanda:

Hafeez 96

Shahzad 126*
Azhar 46*

Extras 1 (only one)

**Current partnership **91 runs, 37.0 overs, RR: 2.45 (Azhar Ali 46, Ahmed Shehzad 44)

**5.00pm **Handshakes from all the New Zealand players for Shehzad. They recognise what a good innings he has played. He has completely shut them out today, batted right through the day, and never looked like getting out apart from that one moment when BJ Watling missed his stumping. Pakistan won the toss and batted, and they will be delighted that they have only lost one wicket. Excellent innings from Hafeez as well, and Azhar has looked rock-solid in Shehzad’s company. Pakistan will want to bat on as long as possible, pile on the runs, and put New Zealand under intense scoreboard pressure. The ball is keeping low occasionally, and this tendency of the pitch should only grow more exaggerated as time wears on.
