Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

Lead is now only 25 runs...

it was 122 runs when they day started...

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

**Current partnership **66 runs, 22.3 overs, RR: 2.93 (Sarfraz Ahmed 56, Rahat Ali 8)

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

it is NZ doesn't loose it mentally... so far they seem to be frustrated and their bowlers seems have it all lost...

mean time lead is reduced to 21 runs... that is NZ gave 101 runs in first session... to a weakest tail of test playing nations

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

382/9

Pakistan trail by 21 runs with 1 wicket remaining in the 1st innings

**Current partnership **70 runs, 23.0 overs, RR: 3.04 (Sarfraz Ahmed 56, Rahat Ali 8)

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

another 10+ runs and Pakistan in position to declare the inning.

that would be rubbing salt to NZ's wounds.. but the best would be if Pakistan can give them a lead... even 10+ lead would be good

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

Now Rahat

142.5
Sodhi to Rahat Ali, FOUR, wonderfully hit! Rahat sees it’s full and he swings it over mid-on for another boundary

142.4
Sodhi to Rahat Ali, no run, nicely bowled! Rahat comes forward to defend and gets a thick outside edge, lands just short of slip

142.3
Sodhi to Rahat Ali, FOUR, he frees his arms and swings this flighted delivery over the umpire’s head. Clean hit from Rahat

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

Rahat two fours to Sodhi. :hehe:

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

Look at the RR

**Current partnership **78 runs, 24.1 overs, RR: 3.22 (Sarfraz Ahmed 56, Rahat Ali 16)

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

Sarfraz has got the average of 47  from last 4 innings he is not out

his last 10 test innings 48, 55, 52*, 103, 55, 109, 15*, 19*, 13* and now 110*

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

I completely agree with this guy. McCullum was completely on backfoot against Sarfraz.

Professor: "Excellent batting by Safraz, but also horrific captaincy by McCullum. He failed to attack Safraz at all when the ninth wicket fell. Why didn't he put pressure on the batter from ball one of each over and try to force the mistake? Game turning partnership and captaincy mistakes." ----- I think Sarfraz toyed with the field expertly

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

^^ Negative cricket never pays...

Pakistan survived 1st session and the lead which was 122 is now reduced to 12 runs... Pakistan is having psychological advantage here...

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

So its lunch, dominating by Pakistan 10th wicket partnership

392/9

**Current partnership **80 runs, 26.0 overs, RR: 3.07 (Sarfraz Ahmed 58, Rahat Ali 16)

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

Lunch Day 4

Pak 392/9…trail by 11 odd runs…

Sarfraz 111* a very responsible innings by him and well supported by Rahat Ali… :k:

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

12.30 pm **And that is **Lunch. Excellent stuff from Sarfraz. He gets a pat on the back from the New Zealand players and the Pakistan team greets him as he walks back. More pats on the back. It has been a sensational century. The good part is that it's still on and the last-wicket stand of 80 has all but wiped off New Zealand's lead. New Zealand threw everything at Sarfraz but couldn't break his concentration. He was patient to farm the strike, then picked up a flurry of boundaries even though the field was spread out, to reach his third century this year. Rahat Ali has given him strong support.. blocking blocking blocking. We will be back in 30 mins to see how the match unfolds

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

This is very unfortunate that Akmals had to miserably fail to make way to a talented WK like Sarfraz. This shows how parchi works in our top cricketing body. This guy showed resilience on few chances he got in the middle but nobody bothered to give him more chances. Though consistency is what was required from the middle order and the guy fits the bill perfectly. But we were obsessed with the name Akmal as only WK option, be it any Akmal for that matter. We don't need big hitters, we need players in the middle order who can change gears according to the situation in Tests and ODI. Something Miandad pioneered in Pakistani cricket history. I hope our middle order idolize the masters and not the likes of Afridis.

Gutter mentality. I hope PCB think tank has got punch in the face and will make team selection on merit only in future.

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

NZ back with same mentality...

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

393/10

146.6
McCullum to Sarfraz Ahmed, OUT, Baz has his first Test wicket and a big win! Sarfraz wanted to slap this length delivery down the ground but doesn't get hold of that, flat-bats it straight back at the bowler
Sarfraz Ahmed c & b McCullum 112 (195b 16x4 0x6) SR: 57.43

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

Had NZ not taken extra half hour... they had a lead of 40+ runs...

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.

All those who were waiting for Pakistan to fail when they bat second and especially facing a big total must be licking their wounds now. Well played Pak.

Re: Pak V NZ 2nd Test.
