Re: Pak has more multi-millionaire
I stated facts in my own words, which you cannot refute. A cut and paste written by some commie exile who has never had a good word to say about Pakistan, are not facts. You posting from Pyongyang are you? :D
Re: Pak has more multi-millionaire
This article states what is already well known, and often discussed in Pakistan. It is for a reason Corp Commanders are known as 'Crore' Commanders.
The vast majority of people in the Army more interested in how much land they can get, how much money they can make rather than professional military matters- that is secondary.
Shame, because Pak forces, especially PAF used to be good.
Re: Pak has more multi-millionaire
Here is a full interview as given by Dr. Siddiqa…From the guppies response you can tell who has been on Army Inc.'s gravy train…and who is at the receiving end.
Seems like a nation for the “muslims” of the subcontinet has turned into ..Pakistan by the army and for the army.

A full General is worth Rs 500 million+
Dr. Ayesha Siddiqa is a scholar of Pakistan’s military and security affairs and a regular contributor to several Pakistani and internationally renowned opinion journals. Currently she is a fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, DC where she is busy writing her latest book “Military Inc, The Politics of Military’s Economy in Pakistan”. In it, she analyzes Pakistan military’s vast commercial interests and its economic predation since 1953.
Ayesha Siddiqa also writes on Pakistan’s military affairs for Jane’s Information Group. She was asked to work as the Director of Naval Research with the Navy making her the first civilian and woman to work at that position in the Pakistan defense establishment. She has a doctorate in War Studies from King’s College, London in 1996.
despardes.com’s Editor-in-Chief Irshad Salim conducted a two-part online interview with her on the subject of her upcoming book, Pakistan affairs and post 9/11 scenario.
Following are the excerpts of the first part of the online interview:
irshadsalim28: So what is this book about?
asidd66: This book is about military business operations with a case study of Pakistan.
…
irshadsalim28: What about Bangladesh and India?
asidd66: Bangladesh has it to but not India
irshadsalim28: So what prompted you to write this book?
asidd66: I was a civil servant. During the course of my work I had to deal with numbers of military spending and doing that one slowly realized that a lot was hidden. It is the search for numbers that took me in this direction. The other thing is that it is essential to understand the dynamics of the institution that virtually controls Pakistan’s past, present and future.

Re: Pak has more multi-millionaire
I agree with Zakk...........
The military operates in teh Pak business world with the cards loaded to favour it, this is hardly an example of a good economic model.
Re: Pak has more multi-millionaire
Independant research?
Did people like them have ever said any thing in favor of army or Fauji Faoundation?
Where these people get their data about Faugi Foundation or Army?
To them Army and Fauji foundation are just evil. People like them who even can't get a job in some industrial unit, write scientific reports. Thats the most interesting thing for me. It encourages me to write a scientific research book about "Ocean Life". (My fantasy)
Re: Pak has more multi-millionaire
Like politicians, industrialists,.....army has bad elements too. Army is a part of our society. Not every general is corrupt though, but it is not difficult to find some. Majority of army still consists of people who can compromise any thing for the sake of their country.
Re: Pak has more multi-millionaire
..it is nice to know that .. you/family are on Army gravy train ![]()
add one more to the list:

Re: Pak has more multi-millionaire
A report written by a person who was screened-out. Yes and from it a so-called “scientific report” can claim that army is corrupt. This is like:
If a shark eats a few small fish, then a “scientific report” must claim that there are no small fish left in an ocean. ![]()
Re: Pak has more multi-millionaire
The military's main aim is to protect the country against outside agression-NOTHING ELSE.
Re: Pak has more multi-millionaire
True, but in Pakistan we no longer have a professional Army, it’s soldiers are more interested in lucrative postings and land grabbing, amongst other things.
They like to parade with neat uniforms and shiny weapons, but that doesn’t change the previous statement known to all in Pakistan.
Re: Pak has more multi-millionaire
how many generals do you have? anyway, isn't military controlling your government the bigger problem? Boot the army out of there and then fixing the economic feudalism and anarchy should be easy
