i’ver seen mohabbatein, now u 2 r derailing this thread, we r not present here to talk about hindu’s my knowledge on islam is better than my knowledge of hindusim, this thread was for muslim women wearing them, and islam says cover ur body blah blah so i started replying, there was no need to bring in bollywood towards this issue as musalmano kai principles and ethics r diferent to hindus’… *
What you do - doesnt matter to me one bit, im not being judgemental nor am I going to stop someone wearing something like this nor have I the power… What they do in films.. doesnt bother me - thats another world… not always a true reflection of what we do in real life…??
But as you mention it.. Watching Pakistani films or shows where presenters wear sleeveless is a real put off… they speak sweet pure urdu… they have the nazaakat and style of a nice pakistani lady but the naked arms… just spell C H E A P! to me.. :o As for hindu actors/actresses - couldnt care less.. dont know about their religion, I am a muslim
MY personal opionion is that I think its not nice… end of the shtory
I don't think I'm derailing the thread. Earlier, you said women in sleeveless tops is distasteful and not to your liking. I don't see how you can have this mentality and then proceed to watch Indian films where realistically speaking, the girls are semi-naked these days. Mind you, I have nothing against Indian films as I myself watch them too occassionally. However, I just don't understand how you can justify watching non-Muslim women in sleeveless tops and then turn around and say that if a Muslim woman does it, it's wrong. I would think that if you find it distasteful in Muslim women, you would find it distasteful in all women. To me, that's just hypocritical. Khair, that's just my opinion.
exactly just ur opinion, u have obviously not followed my replies properly i clarified many of ur issues in my responses, read again for good measure!!!
and in actual fact my reply above mem saab guppan answer’s ur query in this response of urs.
LUC, I am not talking about Muslim women mimicking Indian actresses. It’s just interesting that if a Muslim woman goes out without sleeves, she is cheap, but openly watching loads of Indian women dress even worse and in even less clothes is perfectly acceptable.
Interesting … this explains why so many Muslim men treat non-Muslim women like crap. You don’t see non-Muslim women as equals to Muslim women … when in fact, all people (regardless of whether they have sleeves on) should be treated with respect. You may want to actually make an effort and get to know somebody before you see they don’t have sleeves on and then decide whether or not they are besharam, etc. Passing judgment on whether a person has sleeves on or not is one of the most ridiculous things I have read.
NOT!!! u have lost the plot!!! take a chill pill, read through all the responses again, ur the 1 jumping to conclusions now. simple answer is this:
we r muslim we have no concern about hindus, as i said rightfully our ethics and principles don’t allow us to do wat the indians do in the movies, memsaab well said wat happenes in hindi movies isn’t a true reflection of the real world…
basically musalamano kai liye nahi jaiz ye sub kuch and i couldn’t possibly comment on hindu women wearing these clothes as i said before my knowledge on their mazhab is limited ** BUT ** 2 the best of my knowledge their mazhab doesn’t allow this either

I thought the debate was about Pakistani girls wearing sleeveless dresses? In which case I stand by what I say, I dont agree with it... Our religion says we should cover our bodies... so we should.
Had the debate been about WOMEN wearing sleeveless dresses... my opinion about muslim women would have been the same...
any other religon Like I SAID I dont care about.
Well at the end of the day, who really cares about what you think? :) As Hiccup stated earlier, there are more important things to be concerned about when it comes to women in Pakistan and wanting to reform society. For instance, how about the sharp increase in acid attacks on women? Judging somebody based on their clothes really should be the last thing on your mind when it comes to wanting to keep Pakistan morally and ethically 'clean'.
I have no intentions of reforming Pakistani ladie's or their culture... each to their own...Someone started a thread and I simply stated my opinion.. :) Just coz I dont agree with you...doesnt make me wrong :)
c that’s the thing mem saab guppan isn’t wrong, wat she said was true 100%, just becoz ur mind won’t let u except the truth doesn’t mean u can keep replying and coming up with topics not related to this thread, u r dragging this now and BADLY!!! PLZ QUIT IT.
Interesting LUC. My mind doesn’t let me accept the truth? I didn’t realise we all have to agree on Gupshup. So much for having healthy discussions with differing opinons. Khair, I will end this now as I feel I am talking to a brick wall. See you in Shor Sharaba.
