Re: Pak-Eng - 4th ODI (d/n) @ Nottingham - 8 Sep. 06

I think Inzamam's gamble after winning the toss and electing to bat first didn't pay off...

Eng-Pak: 1-2

Hope to win the next match though...

Re: Pak-Eng - 4th ODI (d/n) @ Nottingham - 8 Sep. 06

I don't know about the man of hte match, BUT the WOMAN of the match is:

Mohammed Yousuf!

Re: Pak-Eng - 4th ODI (d/n) @ Nottingham - 8 Sep. 06

^Wah Wah...excellent support for the 2nd best batsman in the team.

Re: Pak-Eng - 4th ODI (d/n) @ Nottingham - 8 Sep. 06

Congrats to england. Sunday will be a cracking match.

Re: Pak-Eng - 4th ODI (d/n) @ Nottingham - 8 Sep. 06

Pakistan were outplayed in this match and margin of victory could have been more convincing but Razzaq's incredible hitting ensured a competitive total. All in all, an off day for Pakistan and I am quite positive we will wrap up the series with a win on sunday inshaAllah.

I am a big Malik supporter but Farhat deserves a chance after Malik's failures. Malik will be back for champions trophy but Farhat should create competition for him. I believe Inzi sacrificed Afridi today by sending him as an opener in a bid for Malik to gain some form down the order.

Re: Pak-Eng - 4th ODI (d/n) @ Nottingham - 8 Sep. 06

Great cricket by England today. They deserved this win :k:

Re: Pak-Eng - 4th ODI (d/n) @ Nottingham - 8 Sep. 06

Yah, Farhat, or quite possible Shahid Yousuf in for Malik, Inzi or Yousuf might take a rest, Gul in for Rana....and lol Kaneria in for Shoaib Akhtar, and Rao in for Asif.

Re: Pak-Eng - 4th ODI (d/n) @ Nottingham - 8 Sep. 06

Bad day for Pakistan. Congratulations to England...Hope we will win the series on Sunday.

What is the start time for Sunday game? EST plz ?

Re: Pak-Eng - 4th ODI (d/n) @ Nottingham - 8 Sep. 06

Rana is the best bowler in Pakistan...too bad he didn't play in the test series or he would have given nightmares to english batsmen...

Re: Pak-Eng - 4th ODI (d/n) @ Nottingham - 8 Sep. 06

235 was never enough. Our only hope was to capitalize on the psychological momentum provided by Razzaq, and make early inroads into the England batting line up. Unfortunately, we couldn't do that and England batsmen batted well under pressure. England are a test team, and you cannot expect them to go through two whitewashes. At the beginning of the England tour, I thought 4-1 was the best we could do, and this is what we are on course for if we do win the match on Sunday.

I hope Pakistani fans are NOT overly depressed. A loss here a loss there will always keep our attention on where we are still weak. I feel we would have whitewahed England earlier in the summer too, if we had played before Sri Lanka. But after the Lankan experience, England were determined to not have it happen to them again, and they are after all, #2 side in Tests and are gifted with good players. They need the right mix and a little bit of luck, and were alloted that today.

Lessons learned: Afridi playing up the order means sure loss of a wicket in the first 0-15 overs. It should be acceptable if the other opener is well settled and can take over if Afridi loses his wicket. But given that we have an unsettled opener in the other slot (Hafiz), we run the risk of losing 2 quick wickets too early in our innings.

Full time batsmen should nto get out on Zero. Even if you make 10, it means you have started a partnership and other batsmen might well have scored 20/30 while you made 7. Shoaib Malik and Younis Khan should be talked to about getting out under 10.

Rana Naveed hasn't been bowling well, and is awful in the field. From his fielding it seemed he was putting in practice the fielding lessons learned, and couldn't even field the 'old fashioned' way. Some players shouldn't be coached :D

Kamran Akmal had an okay day with the glove, although he cost us a dismissal by not aligning the slips properly. Batting, well, he should try to put this tour behidn him.

Razzaq well done. Afridi should learn to pace his innings from Razzaq. I am afraid Shoaib Malik might get dropped for the last game and it will be a bad decision in the long run.

Inzi likes to back his players, and this is why he doesn't bring them out of the attack if they go for a few runs right away. This is a mistake, Rana Naveed was being hammered, and should have been taken off after an over or two. He waited too long, and by the time he was taken off, England were already in their comfort zone. Rana is fast turning into Sami.

Re: Pak-Eng - 4th ODI (d/n) @ Nottingham - 8 Sep. 06

Woman of the "match". MATCH = 1 day.

I am not asking for him to be dropped. See the difference?

Re: Pak-Eng - 4th ODI (d/n) @ Nottingham - 8 Sep. 06

Let keep Akmal and Rana in the team...especially Akmal, till he is at least 52...that way he will at least make some dismissals and score a few runs here and there....

Rana should be kept in the team, cause the poor fella had a late start to the game...

and lets keep Sami out of the ODI team for good, even though he has a better record then Rana in ODIs and had a better ODI series when Eng were in Pakistan, then Rana (the last ODI series they both played in)....

Re: Pak-Eng - 4th ODI (d/n) @ Nottingham - 8 Sep. 06

^Malik for me is the worst player in the playing XI, averaging like 6 & bowling like 5 overs in the series, and fielding bad. If he isn't dropped, Woolmer shud be destroyed, Rana also shud be dropped.

Re: Pak-Eng - 4th ODI (d/n) @ Nottingham - 8 Sep. 06

yaaroN: Ammi jaaN i mean MoM kaa award kiss ko milaa :faizy:?

Re: Pak-Eng - 4th ODI (d/n) @ Nottingham - 8 Sep. 06

oh come on SDAL. Rana has done what Sami could never do. He has performed consistently in past season. I am not advocating his performances today and I think he should be dropped for the last game but he is a key component of our ODI squad, specially with his bowling-at-death skills. He will come out of this bad phase-low-form-comical errors phase.
