Sources close to the PCB confirmed that there was a lot of bitterness on Kamran’s selection between the selectors and the team management and eventually a bargain was struck to accommodate both Afridi and Karman which sort of settled the debate. The selectors, apparently, got their way by accommodating Afridi in place of Fawad Alam while the team management got Kamran in for young, talented Sarfraz Ahmed.
Salahuddin is a big fan of Afridi and when Inzi retired he was the biggest supporter of making Afridi captain of the ODI squad. On th other hand, Malik off late have been opposing Afridi's selection (sounds amazing that a free loader like Shoaib Malik is opposing Afridi's selection) and at the same time has been the one consistently supporting Akmal, another free loader. Sounds like a perfect scenario of One for all, all for one.
Don't have anything to say for Akhtar. I guess the guy has disappointed fans like me enough that I don't want to expect anything from him. However I still hope that somehow he can manage to complete this tournament which getting into much trouble. He could still be a match winner if he could control his verbal diarrhea and just concentrate on what he is suppose to do.

I agree with others, Yasir Arafat should have been picked. Pakistan lack a genuine allrounder (Afridi is not an allrounder, he is a legspinner who can bat a little bit.)
